It's like arguing with Donald Trump.

For the complete quote. The bottom is just cause so many idiots (you) don't know what an acronym is that the definition is becoming corrupted.

Quote:
: a word (such as NATO, radar, or laser) formed from the initial letter or letters of each of the successive parts or major parts of a compound term

also : an abbreviation (such as FBI) formed from initial letters : INITIALISM
Quote:
Both acronyms and initialisms are abbreviations, but there is a key difference between the two, at least at present. Due to rampant misuse of the term “acronym” some dictionaries are now starting to add an extra definition to it, allowing acronyms to expand their scope to include initialisms. So as the English language evolves, this additional definition of acronym may stick and become widely accepted. But at present, it’s generally still good form to distinguish between the two.

So are you going to get on my ass for not properly incorporating thous and thys into my sentences too?

None of this applies to pb&j anyways, the letters read the same as pronouncing the acronym outright.

No. You are not pulling that self-serving manipulative bull**** on this one. There's a difference between words coming into or out of usage or meanings changing naturally and people simply being wrong for so long that they outlive the naysayers. They're still wrong. They're just too stupid or ignorant to know it. There's a reason why acronym is a word in the first place and that reason is to describe a word that has been created by phonetically pronouncing an abbreviation.

Pronounced like an acronym it would be something like "pibdge". Learn to not be a ****ing moron.

Well the amburszand is pronounced "and" so it'd be peebeeandjay as I've already made clear. Maybe you just need to catch up with the times, gramps. *Skateboards away*

You can't have an ampersand in acronym as it's not a letter. It would be pbj or pbaj. And peebeejay or peebeeaejay is an initialism as you are not pronouncing the letters phonetically as a single word you are just saying the letters.

Well that's why they use an ambperstand instead of an a in pb&j. It would be difficult to pronounce otherwise.
