I think it's a fine line.
I was Catholic until I was 14. Technically I still am, but I was actively Catholic until I was 14. I know plenty of people to whom their faith is a comfort. They do no harm with it, they don't attempt to force others to follow them, and so it's a personal choice. And if someone believes that their religion helps them to be a better person then I think that's quite admirable. I'm almost a little envious of that in some ways. But then there are people who will try to force their religion in my face, and should they do that then chances are I will no longer be a mostly silent atheist. |
