Unreal Firefox Message!!!!
I'm a member of a dating site that apparently firefox now doesn't approve of. I have never seen such a blatant disregard for basic moral principals. This is the message I got going to the site:
Hello there, Mozilla Firefox user. Pardon this interruption of your OkCupid experience. Mozilla’s new CEO, Brendan Eich, is an opponent of equal rights for gay couples. We would therefore prefer that our users not use Mozilla software to access OkCupid. Politics is normally not the business of a website, and we all know there’s a lot more wrong with the world than misguided CEOs. So you might wonder why we’re asserting ourselves today. This is why: we’ve devoted the last ten years to bringing people—all people—together. If individuals like Mr. Eich had their way, then roughly 8% of the relationships we’ve worked so hard to bring about would be illegal. Equality for gay relationships is personally important to many of us here at OkCupid. But it’s professionally important to the entire company. OkCupid is for creating love. Those who seek to deny love and instead enforce misery, shame, and frustration are our enemies, and we wish them nothing but failure. If you want to keep using Firefox, the link at the bottom will take you through to the site. However, we urge you to consider different software for accessing OkCupid: |
sounds more like okcupid doesnt support your browser, the way u mad eit sound was the opposite.
well it sounds like it lets you use firefox anyways, so just use it and continue findin all the hott babes |
This could become ramped. How many progressive sites have an acceptance of gay lifestyles? Are they going to block them all. Doesn't sound like a good biz model for firefox. I may be going back to Explorer

I just read a little about this. Sounds like even Mozilla employees are calling for that guy's resignation.

i cant believe this is real lol. i dont understand their wording why they say ' Equality for gay relationships is personally important to many of us here at OkCupid.' it seems like that doesnt make any sense to me
maybe its a hacker creating lulz |

I'm fairly shocked that a guy in his position would come out with stuff like this. Brendan Eich is a fairly big deal in the IT/software world as he invented JavaScript.
That said, I don't use Firefox anyway. |
so okcupid is sendin the message about firefox. but you can just keep using firefox anyways as it says in the message.
news flash - ppl have differing opinions on social issues. as long as it doesnt prevent u from using the site i dont think its a big deal |
