I'd like to join the community and contribute, not just spamming. Unfortunately my intro post got deleted immediately!!

Is there anywhere I can put up a little 'blog' while contributing in other threads as well?

You can start a thread in the Members Journal section, though I think you need to have a handful of posts at least before a journal would be approved. Post in a few threads (not one-word posts; contribute to a conversation) and then try it. It's probably where you'll find the freedom to express your creativity as you seem to want to.

Members here talk about their own music in Member Showcase. But you need to establish yourself as a contributing member, not only to keep your posts from being deleted but mostly because the membership here won't pay any attention to someone we feel is only here to promote themselves
