Not sure what defines nu metal either. The way I think about it, it might qualify if it has those jump-da-****-up-and-down type riffs.

math/metalcore mainly but i guess the nu metal label comes from certain elements that do kinda give you a deftones or early slipknot vibe.

worth noting those are like the only two tolerable nu metal acts, for me at least.

I'm missing the Deftones vibe. I see early Slipknot though.

I don't even remember what they sound like. I just used them as the butt of my joke because they look silly.

Ok, I can agree with that. They were ridiculous with the way they looked. I think the lead singer has only gotten more stupid with time.
