Tfw you find out a friend of yours got a gig at the House Of Blues, Chicago. He's been inviting me up to his Open Mic for months, but I never went. Now, I'm all like:

Maybe the San Diego one is a little easier to get into but ja. I was a replacement guitarist for my friend's reggae/metal band when they opened for Afroman. HELLYEAH is playing there tomorrow, so it looks like the bar is substantially lower here.

Considering that you 'opened' for Afroman, and he played a bar down the street from my friends house that had maybe 20-30 people there to see him then yeah, that bar's more for Limbo games. The one in Chicago is a tough gig to get. You have to have solid numbers. I have little to none, so seeing my friend get a gig there is kind of a big deal. I shoulda made good on his invitations, and now I'm kicking myself in the arse.

The Chicago House of Blues is a way, way bigger venue than any of the other ones I've seen.

Edit: ok I guess they're all bigger now.
