Do you get paid for logo clothing?

Its a source of mystery to some as to why it is seen to be 'cool' to wear the clothing manufacturer's logo all over themselves.

Why would anyone want to walk around with a company name splashed across their shirt?

The store or brand that sold you the shirt won't actually pay you for doing their advertising for them, and you will just look like thousands of other people who went to the same store.

In the UK, this is highly noticeable.

Personally, I would feel a bit of a plonker walking into a bar with a shirt that had 'Adidas' or some other brand stamped on the front.

Its the same with replica sports clothing (particularly ugly in the UK I have to say).

Anyone who wheres replica sports clothing in a bar should be made to run in the London Marathon. Anyone with a large brand logo on their shirt should be made to work in the factory that made it.

Jesus. Remake The Sex Pistols already.

Oddly enough Mr Drury, the only thing I actually hate is fizzy lager and junk food.

Not at all. Tattoos look good on pirates and the 'stick-on' ones are great at fancy dress parties.

Facebook, well if it was used for what it was designed for...

And cabbage, I can't live without it. But only if its red cabbage.

Common society? what do you mean by that? covers a whole range of possibilities.

He should just have a drink with me to be honest.

Mojo 12-20-2013 06:34 AM

Just make sure its a fine ale. No fizzy lager. Fizzy lager is for mindless drones.

Rjinn 12-20-2013 06:37 AM

But I want to be original. He doesn't drink it. :(

I´m wary of supporting Oxy, who seems to have a rather combative approach to posting, but I agree with him about logos. In terms of the history of clothing, it´s a very recent development; a con trick on the part of manufacturers that is easily avoided. Although I don´t go to Gandhi´s extreme and spin my own clothes, I do cut labels off my jeans as I like a kind of traditional/timeless appearance and don´t want to endorse consumerism by giving some manufacturer free publicity.

Zer0 12-20-2013 08:02 AM

I do. I get paid truckloads of hard cash to wear Adidas clothing every day and look like a cool mother****er. With all my cash, good looks, awesome tattoos and carisma I have girls hanging from my arms constantly. I also have a Facebook page dedicated to me. I'm living a lavish lifestyle, driving a Ferrari and the money just keeps on rolling in from Adidas.

Who's laughing now Oxy?

Burning Down 12-20-2013 08:45 AM

Oxy, you're a pretty miserable soul, aren't you? I think you need some holiday cheer. Or do you have something against Christmas too?

LoathsomePete 12-20-2013 08:46 AM

Damn, I thought his next thread would be about the commercialization of Christmas.

Mojo 12-20-2013 08:48 AM

Oh. Fat, grey haired, bearded, red men with huge sacks and flying animals. How blasé.

Isnt owning both a form of heresy?

I bought a beautiful pale green Adidas jacket with really unique drawings on the back. I will take a photo so you can enjoy its brilliance.

if I wore sweatshirts I would totally rock this

LennyComa 12-20-2013 12:28 PM

I wear shirts and sports jersey's because I either like the team or I think they look good. (In all fairness I only really wear my Hockey or rugby jerseys if I'm going to catch a game).

Here's the thing Oxy. I really don't give a **** on weather or not you think my shirt is ugly I'm going to wear it. I don't give 2 flying ****s through a rolling donut what type of shirt you wear either. My best mate wears a FFAF Hoodie like 90% of the time I see him, My ex used to rock up in SOAD shirts all the damn time. And to be honest I quite like/d spending my time with them because (SPOILER WARNING) They were nice people...Imagine my surprise.

Oxy 12-20-2013 02:51 PM

Oh, ZeroO (is that your name?0

I'll just have a half of what you are drinking.

LennyComa, is your 13th birthday due soon? Your language for such a young girl is not all that good.

But then, I am British.

And these things matter to us.

Sparky 12-20-2013 02:56 PM

I am very much the same way. The only logo'd clothing I wore was t-shirts representing various brands of malt liquor, which was indeed a strange-borderline pathetic-fashion statement to be making but it did piss off my teachers enough to make a rule change disallowing such clothing, which did fill me with morbid validation at the time

Indeed. If I was collecting friends then your views would be considered.

Dude 'm Scottish It's not like English is my first language (see what I did there). You're from Nottinghamshire so I guess that explains your Real Ale drinking snobbishness, why you're embarrassed to wear a sport's top (Forest Sucks) and why you wouldn't wear a shirt with a logo on it (Pikey natives will "rob it" is that the correct vernacular?).

For someone who claims to be smart and doing research you didn't even Google my home town to find out I live in the UK.
