Yeah, I can feel greatness on the horizon to top how cool this year was for me.

I went to my first concert ever, went to my first EDM music festival. Had a blast at both of them.

I went on several trips and just enjoyed myself.

My biggest, most life-changing "achievement" this year was a shitty medical diagnosis that is going to be something I'll have deal with and worry about for the rest of my life. On the positive side, I did manage to steer my career in a new direction this year that I enjoy more and which pays a hell of a lot better (as in I'm making almost 50% more this year than I did last year).

I have maintained honours status through 18 months of college.

I wrote a screenplay. I finished a painting.

I have done volunteer work and adopted a cat. I took a road trip to Portland and Seattle and saw my favourite band twice.

The first two are the most significant. It's been a quiet year full of hard work. I don't mind. I don't measure success in terms of bells-and-whistles.

That's great that you sorted that out, I know what it's like to have a illness that I may also have to deal with for the rest of my life (or at least to menopause). Good job on getting a new direction with increased funds! That's where I want to be next year.

Also if this one counts, I really started to write 'songs' last year. I have been doing it a long time but this year I "wrote" or steal or whatever something like 100 songs and I have something like 60-70 demos. A lot of them are pretty awful and unfinished but I hope I'll get better someday. Anyway as a way to express my thoughts they work pretty well, at least they are honest ones. While I know nobody is gonna listen to them and they are pretty generic two minute ditties, the feeling you get when you finish something that you have came up with is unexplainable. It is one of the greatest feeling I have ever got.

Congrats to Grogsy for becoming a hippie and dj who, inexplicably, was a concert virgin until this year.

Sincere condolences to Janszoon and Vanilla for the medical news that you´ve had to come to terms with, and to Taxman and Trollheart for your particular problems - but at least all you guys are still here and still posting, and that´s an acheivement to be proud of.

Spoiler for because of pic size:

^ This poor woman endured a lifetime of back pain, and during one difficult night she supposedly cried out, "I am alive!" I guess that´s the bottom-line accomplishment that everyone reading this has acheived. Well done, everybody!

You´re welcome Janszoon - at least enjoy spending all that extra money, and I hope you have a good Christmas. Perhaps Santa will have discovered some brilliant new artiste for you - I know that´s what I´m in need of!

Thanks for the kind words, Lisnaholic. Hope you have a great Christmas.
Jansz, sorry to hear about your medical problems. Hope they won't stop you enjoying life to the full.
Vanilla, everyone else here, just have a great Christmas, which officially here in Ireland began two hours twenty-five minutes ago.

Is that sleighbells I hear? Nah, just a stolen car screeching up the road...

HAPPY CHRISTMAS ALL!!
