If I hear a song/album I like I've always had to know all the lyrics. Honestly, back in the days afore the Net I used to spend hours listening to my records/tapes, running them back and trying to catch hard-to-hear lines by fiddling with the bass and treble. There were usually some I couldn't get but by and large I knew most of the songs on my favourite albums within a few spins and could sing them (not aloud; I'd never do that to anyone!) word for word. Now of course you only have to look up lyrics sites, and I can get the words I never could before this. But it's still important to me, very much so.
Anyone else? Does it matter? Does it consume your every waking moment?
