At work, we have a hot water spigot which I use but then I nuke it in the microwave to get it boiling--takes about 20 seconds. I use a Chinese mug with a ceramic strainer. Then I add in loose tea--generally some form of green. At home, I boil up a kettle and pour that into an iron teapot lined with enamel that they use in Japan. Sometimes, though, I have matcha instead. Americans do not put milk in tea and in this one instance I am proud to be an American. Tea is mostly water and you do not put milk in water--that's disgusting. Tea should be loose and always straight--nothing added. F-uck flavoring, f-uck sugar, f-uck chai and f-uck milk. Ice tea is great in hot weather but it must be unsweetened. Flavored ice tea is an abomination and not real tea. The flavoring is just the same s-hit they put in soda so you may as well drink soda. Sugar does not belong in tea anymore than milk. |

I like a lot of different kinds of tea and herbal infusions. Koreans have some very interesting orange based infusions. Of course green tea rules all teas in taste and healthiness, though I know a lot of people who would disagree. I found it interesting that a company called Sencha has developed green tea mints! It sounds really interesting since I do like green tea icecream and such. Check out their mints here http://www.dailycuppacoffee.com/senc...mints-12-tubes.

Milk destroys the antioxidant effect of the tea just as it destroys the same effect in dark chocolate. Milk is for babies not grown people. Adults cats, for example, are lactose intolerant. NEVER give a grown cat milk. Water is all they need. Kittens can drink milk but actually cream is better for them but you have to ween off it before they reach 1 year. Milk is not made for adult systems. It does not belong in tea. Nothing belongs in tea but tea.

The only time I do that is with Vanilla Chai tea and it's usually a drop or two of milk just to change the color of the tea.

i stopped drinking milk because it's bad for your sinuses, and i literally wanted to throw up at the thought of eating. it just turns out that my favourite way of delivering milk is through chai. traditional chai. steeped in the milk. and yes, antioxidants are important, but if i wanted antioxidants, i certainly wouldn't go for chai. or any kind of tea. |
