Manky, I can definitely agree with a lot of points you are making. I know that when my boyfriend was here for 2 months I barely went online because we were always busy. But now that he is back in Russia, I'm sitting here wondering what's next. I have study most days, but still fit MB in because it is an addiction for me. I'll happily admit that. Just like how I visit Perezhilton.com everyday even though he's an ******* and has a personal vendetta against Gaga because they're no longer friends. It's going to take a few more months to finish my diploma but I know I can pick up the pace. I was going to go everyday this week but I am sick and am too exhausted from a noisy fecking flatmate.

Anyway, I really just wanted to know what everyone was up to that keeps them from posting as much. I like taking an interest in people's lives. I have two adorable best friends who live in two different cities and so I have to use phone and internet to interact with them. But I have great friends up here and am making sure I spend more time out than at home.

I can tell you though, not everyone is unhappy on here, Burning Down has a full on life but still fits MB in because it's fun. I know this because I talk to her nearly everyday.

I'm somewhat in both categories. Being in the situation I am (and a weirdo to boot!) I don't really have any "real" friends anymore, so stuck at home as I am pretty much all the time I tend to use the net more and more. I personally have found that rather than act as some replacement for having real friends it's given me some, some very important friends who although they're online are in the end real people in real countries (unless you're all beings of pure energy and haven't told me!) and these people have helped me through some really bad times, and hopefully I have reciprocated in some cases.

There's a lot to be said for a community of online friends, and while it can't really replace real-life, in some ways it's almost better, as you don't have to be certain places certain times, get drunk if you don't want to, listen to people ramble on about themselves (ahem!) or carry someone home drunk, worry about taxis or buses, or even money. It's all there in front of you.

I guess like the lovely Vanilla MB is kind of an addiction for me too: if I couldn't get online or if the site suddenly went dead or shut down I'd be really at a loss for something to do, but more than that I'd feel that I'd lost some really good friends. After all, without MB there are some wonderful people that I would never have met.

The only reason I will admit I have an addiction is because whenever I'm out somewhere I will always check MB whether it's on my tablet or cell phone.

Last year when I took a break from being always connected it opened my eyes a bit but the reality of the situation is that this is how much technology is interwoven into our daily lives and sure we should be taking things in moderation but I feel like the two can go hand in hand without hindering each other. You can have a full and busy life while managing your social networks online.

This isn't the stone age where you can only do one thing at a time. Learn to multi-task Manky you slow gimp :P.

I've been pretty busy lately with going around door knocking and phone banking for local elections. Actually the fucking primaries are today and I'm going to be doing some last minute hustling but I still have my cell phone charged and in my down times whether it be a quick 2 mins or a 10 min break. I will wander over to MB to see what new posts have been made.

I've come to realize that I'm a techy at heart and always will be. Also I'm on here a lot for two reasons. One I work from home and two even when I'm working for my volunteer organization they want me attached to the internet. They made me leader of social media so I'm working on coming up with a new campaign and linking it through twitter, facebook and google +.

This might seem like a long list of excuses but everyone is different and is online/on MB for different reasons and at different times.

I don't think it's that quiet at all. Plenty of new posts every day. Not sure where the silence is, but I guess it just depends on time zones or whatever.

For me personally, unfortunately the demands of college and church and other activities have consumed my time. I don't have time to do my blog as much as I would like. I have to postpone because I have a big homework, study for a test or even do some other activities. It is not helped by me having so much other activities. Since I am an adjustment phase with my life, I have been unable to be here and sometimes be a dick. kiekiekie.

Vanilla, the sad thing as Manky pointed out is that most members are in their teens or college years. That is expected.

Maybe they should restrict this forum to just people over 21.
