Default Let's Talk About Love

Have you every been with someone that give you goosebumps when you see them and this overwhelming feeling of pure love, where you are so focused and so happy that you end up realise you are in love that person.

I feel like I'm this situation as my bf as to go back to Russia and will try again for a New Zealand work visa. I swear this is the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with. He is talented, caring, cooks for me, buys everything that we do for dates and cooking at home.

I really find it hard to have someone who refuses to let me pay for anything, but it's a common Russian behaviour.

Thoughts? Stories?

He sounds lovely

Can he not apply for a spouse visa? I think you have to be living together for 6-12 months though (at least that is the case in Australia...)

My significant other is pretty awesome, he left me this cute little note the other day after he had left for work:

I felt kinda bad because I'm always leaving him notes reminding him to do things and then he left me that sweet little thing to brighten my day!

D'awwwwwww!

Hey mine moved back to Serbia for 4 months after his exchange visa expired. He decided to come back and so he applied for permanent resident status. That was the longest 4 months of my life

Yeah a lot of the Eastern European cultures are like that. The men provide for the woman. My boyfriend is like that too but I often pay for stuff when we go out as well.

Kate, that's so cute

My household is the total opposite, I am the main breadwinner in our family! We share our finances though so it's not really like I'm paying for him... we just have communal money.

Jess, that's a lovely story although I guess it makes you sad that you'll be away from him. I am however delighted you have someone like that because, well, you know, you deserve it. So many people are lonely with so much love to give, I'm just glad you're not one of them.

WHO is that making "getting sick" noises???

Oh and Astronomer: that's just gorgeous, but .... "bug"? Enquiring, nosy minds (can a mind be nosy?) want to know...

Ah. I thought bug was cuter. Kinda conjures up images of characters like this...

Sorta like bear but with more legs. And antennae. But still cute. Don't you yankees say "cute as a bug"? We certainly say snug as a bug. Mind you, I can only stand bugs, or insects, in animation, preferably Pixar-driven. And talking. Or singing. Maybe dancing.
