It's too early to tell if the pills are having any effect but the face wash definitely is, even if it does dry my skin out a little bit.

I really want accutane. Did you get any side effects?

Not anything severe. While you're on it your skin will be dry so no waxing or anything like that. It regulates the oils that cause acne and once you get off it your skin won't be dry anymore and your acne will be pretty much gone. Some people need two courses but that's it. Each round is about 4 or 5 months.

Don't take it if you're pregnant because it will cause birth defects. So your doctor might ask if you want birth control too if you're not already on it. Also it says on the box that it might cause depression while you're on it, but that's extremely rare.

When you're on it your doctor might require you to do a blood test every couple of months because I think it causes triglyceride levels to go up in your bloodstream. It's not going to clog up your arteries or anything though, don't worry.

Good thread, if I think of something I'll post it in here. I have a question though, how do I know if my skin is dry or oily or whatever? And how do I pick a moisturiser based off of that? I am a man btw.

I have done this before and it surprised me how much it hurts. I've waxed my legs before too just to see if hurt and it was fine but this made me wince and my eyes watered.

I'm sure green tea does no harm for people who want to lose weight, especially if you replace fizzy drinks or alcohol with it - fine. Cut out all the empty calories and the sugar, can only be a good thing.

I've drank 3/4 cups of green tea daily for the past 3 years - the difference in my skin and my mental health has been enormous. I like it with ginger, honey, and/or lemon - whatever combination of those tends to be great. I dig it on its own, too. My whole diet changed radically after leaving home and gradually learning how to cook, but incorporating green tea was one of the best and simplest moves I made. Forget these green tea 'supplements' though - just drink the drink!

I love green tea, it's all I drink. Some blends do have a small amount of caffeine in them though so be wary if you are pregnant or trying to avoid caffeine for whatever reason. I usually buy caffeine free.

I found an amazing blend of loose-leaf green tea, it's green tea leaves plus freeze-dried strawberry bits. Absolutely, amazingly delicious!

Yeah that's what I was gonna say, it has caffeine in.

Re: weight loss, I don't think it will negatively affect it but I've seen conflicting studies saying it will or won't speed up metabolism. Overall I'd say it's relevance to weight loss is that of or equivalent to coffee's relevance to being a diuretic and counteracting creatine's water retention i.e. fuck all.

If you want to strip water you need real diuretics. If you want to lose fat you need to sort your diet out. Green tea isn't gonna do anything imo.

Green tea does have benefits in terms of weight loss, if you are substituting an unhealthier drink for it. Many people give up their regular coffees which include milk/sugar, or sugary drinks, or other things and replace these drinks with green tea, which in turn will help you to lose weight So I guess if you are using green tea as a healthier alternative to something you used to have every day - it's going to be a helpful change.

But if you're just adding green tea into your diet as an additional beverage it's not going to do anything...

Yeah I agree but that's a diet change, has nothing to do with speeding up your metabolism.

You could drink water and achieve the same results, so it's not exclusive to green tea.
