Yeah but think about it - one paper aint gonna change your life... 6 or 7 bad ones might but hey, its only maths!!! You are never donna need to work out the angle between a tree and the ground are ya?!

ArtistInTheAmbulance 06-08-2005 01:22 PM

Haha thats what drives me mad about maths! Im never going to need to know the quadratic equation in later life, and yet I have to learn it anyway.

Ah well, only one more maths and then Im done with it FOR LIFE :D

eviljoker7075 06-08-2005 01:30 PM

not so!! In fact you are going to need maths in just 2 short months!!!

Ok... Why will I need the quadratic equation in two months time?

eviljoker7075 06-08-2005 02:02 PM

aaaaaahhhhhh! *taps nose* you will see... have patience and faith my child!

You'll be surprised how often you'll need quadratic equations if you go on into further and higher education doing any sort of science/computer/engineering a-level/degree. Outside of these disciplines you'll have very little use for the more advanced maths. Having said that, when are you ever going to need to know the year the first surgery was performed under general anaesthetic or the story of the Doner party? Or even the ability to critically analyse a poem?

Anyway, I've just finished my Computer Systems Engineering MEng Degree, so I'm completely finished with full-time education. 17 years is definately enough, although the last 4 years were definately the most fun.
