Your friendship is not 100% fake because he didnt tell you that he was into guys. Its just one part of the relationship that he didnt feel you needed to know. Maybe you two were not as good of friends that you had thought you were. But it doesnt mean it was 100% fake.
I think your feelings are hurt more then anything and you dont know how to handle it.
Shrug it off and move on with your life. When he wants to tell you, if he wants to tell you, he will.
