I have been working hard making a video game, I am a hobbyist video game developer. I have spent countless hours on my video game and hundreds of dollars. My dream was to get the video game I was making on the Apple App Store for iOS devices (iPad, iPhone). I am in debt because of this video game and was planning on making the money back through the App Store, because you get a majority percentage of the money made from sales of the game. Well making a game for mobile iOS devices involves using a computer and porting it to the iPad or iPhone or whatever. The translation from the computer to the iPad caused my video game to be slow (laggy) and the music would not work. I had tested it before but had not tested every aspect of it. And recently I had thrown more money on it, which will turn out to be a waste because I won't be able to release the game on the App Store like I paid the submission fee for, and also one of the final steps to the submission process is syncing my iPad with my PC through iTunes and for some strange reason, my iPad generally won't sync correctly with my PC no matter what I do. I don't expect you to understand every word of what I'm saying, but who knows, maybe you can somehow relate.

Video game making is becoming a former hobby of mine and I'm moving into music. You will see a post from me about my starting career in music once I have enough posts to post a Journal.

I will probably get some insults or insuations thrown my way between now and actually achieving a dream of greatness through music, mostly because people don't know me very well yet. People have assumed that I'm young and insecure. And that was just batlord. I'm not uptight though so it just gives me a good laugh, it doesn't offend me.

Anyway in other news, I tend to view this forum from afar since I joined more so than participating and it feels like I'm getting to know some cool people here. It might be part of the reason why I'm opening up now. Anyway, that's all I have to say.

Well damn, you gave up on that easily. You definitely wouldn't cut it with a future in video games if that is the case. I wonder how long you are going to last in music before switching to something else. Photography maybe? Painting? Magic Card trading?

I have been a hobbyist game developer for about 13 years.

Follow your dreams where ever they take you. You only go around once unless you believe in reincarnation.........

Just an:beer: observation, but Tesla was broke when he died yet decades later had a actual band named after him!

See, even Nikola Tesla became relevant..

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart eventually hit the big time too. Never give up!

Is it copy-righted? Well if not, I would watch out for Ed Dillinger. I heard he likes to steal video games and passed them off as his own. Flynn told me.

Well let's see. I was feeling pretty funky about losing some money on software development and made a post about it. Then I talked about some completely unrelated things out of the blue which don't really matter at all. People assumed I was a drama whorer about the software development which is not a light I want to see myself in, even if I am. So I now have an image to shed. And apparently in the process a meme got made about "I am batlord". Oh and first world problems got mentioned and I posted a picture of it. So basically, your typical The Lounge thread. And I'm just going with the flow and enjoying it now, I feel a little better after ranting about the software development.

Well I believe it seems a little strange that you called it a sob story when really you've given up after a few dilemmas. At the end of the day if you're passionate about gaming you don't let a couple of setbacks stop you from achieving your goals. This is the real world and no one is going to sort it out for you. So my advice, if you really want to fix the game, do some research and go back to it. Particularly because you have spent a fair bit of of your own cash into it. You have to spend money to make money.

When I called it a sob story, I was being sarcastic and making fun of myself. "Rant" is a better word.

Also, it's really the fault of the people who made my tools I use to make games. They advertise their tools as being iOS friendly but did not tell me these things and will not listen to people when they have problems or fix them.
