I on the other hand, have had one experience online dating which ended atrociously, and has left me with the opinion that 1) distance does not work and 2) you can't really get to know someone through an internet persona.

i know.. and yes you assume correctly, SHE doesn't know but with her i don't get a guilty conscience cause she and i have never established an official commitment i honestly don't know what the hell we are, we care for each other and all but i don't feel it's gonna last.. i don't see her as the love of my life and she doesn't see me that way either, im sure of it..

lots of people have multiple partners. it's kinda the way sh*t works these days. if the girl he's "porking" has stated flat out that she doesn't want to be with someone who is doing that though, it's a different story and Black Francis is an *sshole. gotta respect people, no matter how big your sex drive is.
as far as internet hookups, my mom met a dude on a literati (it's like scrabble) chat, and they've been together over ten years. i don't think the circumstances under which people meet should be a defining factor in the compatibility at all. anything is possible, and who the hell is anyone else to say such things are wrong or that they can't work? there's no rules. also, back when myspace was starting i met a girl on there. we talked for like 6 months and decided we should meet up based on our attraction toward each other. the first time we hung out we did a huge bag of mushrooms. just the two of us. from my own experience - no matter how spontaneous i think i am - a quarter of mushrooms between two people who have never met is probably not a good idea. we did date for awhile but called it off for several reasons. regardless, we're still very good friends who are there for each other when it's needed, which, when it comes to ending relationships - started online or not - is the best thing one could hope for. the internet is part of our lives. i think believing relationships of any kind which start there are meaningless or aimless or whatever is just ignorant and closed-minded. to think it may not be for you, cool. to say others shouldn't do it, nah. |

it's very hard to explain the kinda relationship we have for example we hangout ALL the time but i can't put my arms around her or show affection to her like a BF i tried once to show public affection simply by caressing her face and she backed off!! it's behaviour like that, that makes me feel she and i aren't really together and honestly, i don't feel like treating her as a GF, it doesn't feel right and natural And wtf? how come the "Guy" always have to be the sleaze bag? i don't wanna sit down with her and have a chat about how we feel cause she doesn't seem to care and neither do i and honestly, i don't wanna scare her away
