Peanut Butter, the burning issue of our day

In my humble opinion, creamy peanut butter is equal to setting at the right hand of a benevolent omniscient god, crunchy peanut butter is identical to spraying heavy indiscriminant automatic weapons fire into an orphanage.

Key 03-04-2013 08:34 PM

I love crunch peanut butter.

gunnels 03-04-2013 08:44 PM

Creamy PB is an affront to the natural state of the peanut-- reducing its glorious crunch to a pauper's sauce.
The organic stuff that you have to stir is clearly superior.

PoorOldPo 03-04-2013 09:00 PM

Never cared for it. Had it like once in my life. We only really have potatoes over here.

djchameleon 03-04-2013 09:05 PM

The roof of my mouth was assaulted from crunchy peanut butter when I was younger and I decided never again.

My favorite peanut butter treat, the Fluffernutter... yum.

Spoiler for Best fluffernutter sandwich picture I could find... it's huge.:

Psychedub Dude 03-04-2013 09:26 PM

Creamy PB and Jelly on a toasted english muffin is true magic

ThePhanastasio 03-04-2013 09:32 PM

I generally only eat peanut butter on crackers, and unless I shove an entire cracker in my mouth, the crunchy peanut butter has a tendency to break my cracker. I really don't care which type I eat. But, for practical reasons due my typical peanut butter-related cracker eating, I opt for creamy.

If I wanted a sandwich, I'd go for whichever was handy.

Fluffer Nutter made crispy as a cinnamon butter French Toast...

Burning Down 03-04-2013 09:38 PM

I only buy crunchy.

WWWP 03-04-2013 11:26 PM

I'm allergic. :(

I do Sunflower Seed butter, though, which is creamy/the kind you stir.

Engine 03-04-2013 11:38 PM

I love peanut butter, creamy slightly more than crunchy but both are good.
I won't eat it though. I have some neuroses about what happens in my intestines. So if I have to choose a nut butter I go with Almond every time.

I don't believe it's possible to overstate this

I quite enjoy 2 slices of granary toast, smothered in real butter and topped with crunchy PB...bit naughty but everything in moderation eh?

Scarlett O'Hara 03-05-2013 06:14 AM

Smooth peanut butter is heaven. Crunchy is meh, but I'll have it if I'm desperate. The best spread however is Marmite. Has anyone tried that?

Google Image Result for http://www.americangrocery.co.uk/ekmps/shops/vmadhu/images/smuckers-goober-peanut-butter-grape-510g-68-p.jpg

Jiffy crunchy does the trick also, but the jam makes the sandwich.

Well, as of right this moment the voting is nearly deadlocked between the saintly, beautiful kind-hearted giving souls that realize how god intended peanut butter to be, and the puppy-murdering degenerate demon swine who prefer the soft sexy texture of perfection utterly RUINED by a million goddamn chunks of virulent doom.

Sansa Stark 03-05-2013 11:17 AM

Crunchy, smooth is for plebes

But I have cookie dough flavoured peanut butter rn and it is heavenly

Jam without seeds in has been called Jelly for as long as I can remember.

So, marmalade means it has the peel shavings in it? I never was curious enough to look that up...

I was happy to push the pole over onto the side of crunchy, with the real men.

OMG why have I not tried that? When bloody Marmite is back in stock again (thanks to the earthquakes damaging the Sanitariam building in Christchurch 2 years ago) I will be on this like it's nobody's business. I've been craving it sooo much.

Come on smoothies, get voting!

Ah...in New Zealand it's still Jam. Hate to break it to you. And we are part of the commonwealth!

Marmalade is made from only the peel, which is why it isn't classed as a jam or jelly. You can buy it with peel chunks or without.
