I'm a Dad.

In the grand scheme of things, I like to think I contribute some form of compassion and understanding to the world. I give and never expect to recieve anything back, whether it's monetary, my knowledge, or just an ear to lend. There's too much disrespect in the world today, and I'm on a mission to try and change that, starting with my daughter (who is an incredible young woman).

Not sure what the future brings, but I plan on being an old crazy guy down the road at some point.
you're a really good guy plankton.

Honestly, I play a lot of video games, I read a lot of books, I write a lot of poetry, and I make some music. That's pretty much me in a nutshell.

Meh, honestly I don't know who I am. Kind of all over the place. Something then the opposite. I try to be considerate but sometimes can turn out to be an *******. Always considered myself a clash. A red and blue coloured person with multiple personalities. Of course, being bipolar kind of contributes to that.

If you're a clash, you're an awesome clash.

Describing myself is hard, but most people who know me in real life seem to find me friendly and funny and I've been told by quite a few people that I'm a good conversationalist. I do think, though, that I'm not nearly as much of an extrovert as people tend to think I am—I definitely require a decent amount of alone time. I also kind of pride myself on being honest and really can't stand people who lie.

And I feel like a navel-gazing bastard for writing all that.

Thanks Jansz. I also really appreciate your persona and believe that description fits very well.

That's great Jans, I'm very similar with being extroverted but really like my alone (recharge) time.

i relate to that, i need my space U_U

i always found this Kashmir lyrics described pretty well that side of me

"Please be my next morning flower
But don't be there all the time
Leave me a couple of hours
Then bring me food and wine" -the cynic

You can actually find out a lot about me here (Trollheart's in-depth profile) but for those who don't want to click a mouse...

I was born in... nah seriously. I'm watching over my shoulder as my fiftieth birthday sneaks up on me like a slasher in a boathouse (July 6, in case anyone wants to send birthday greets. Or presents. Send presents!) and have lived in Dublin, Ireland all my life. I wear glasses and have thinning hair. I left school at 17 and worked in the same job until 2009, when I took voluntary redundancy in order to look after my sis, who had been diagnosed with MS in 2001 and let go from her job the following year. She's 42.

I love animals, have three cats (used to be five) and all through my life our family have had cats and/or dogs, can't remember any time when we didn't have one or both. I have a quirky sense of humour, tend to learn things like Black Adder, Red Dwarf, Young Ones etc off by heart and then refer to them in life. Things like (for those who know RD) when I'm feeding the cats their twice-weekly fish treat, tuna on a Wed/Fri, I usually say "FISH! Today's fish is trout a la creme. Enjoy your meal!" If you dont know what that means check by Couch Potato journal.

I have two brothers and two (including Karen, the disabled one) sisters. Two bros couldn't give two shiuts, ain't seen them for several years not even at Xmas. Sister is great but very busy. I'm now Karen's official carer, so that's what I do now. I enjoy TV mostly sci-fi, some crime (Sopranos, Underbelly, Criminal Minds, SoA etc), documentaries and drama-docus like IRT and Ax Men, the odd reality show (seriously, like ONLY The Apprentice and Dragons Den) and lots of other stuff. I'm sort of a Trekkie but not a mad weird one and I actually prefer Babylon 5. I love quizzes, am not too bad at them.

I'm very emotional and cry easily. I hate hypocrisy and cruelty to animals. I go out hardly ever, with the sitch being as it is, and so spend most of my time in my room, either watching telly or working on my journals. I do have the luxury of only having to get up about 10:30 so that's good. I do not miss work, though I miss some of the people there. Life is tough on a carer's allowance but what ya gonna do? I keep my spirits and Karen's up as much as possible, though like every human we have the odd fight. Usually nothing serious.

I like movies but seldom get to see them. You would think since I'm "not working" I'd have loads of free time but I don't: everything has to be planned around Karen --- waking up, feeding, afternoon nap, meals, settling down etc --- and it leaves me with probably less free time than I had when I was working! Weird huh? I like to read (mostly sf/fantasy) and have a large collection but these days seldom get the chance. I can't drive so have no car (sharp intake of breath from the Americans: how does he get around???) nor could I afford one if I had.

I believe in seeing the good in people, but if someone crosses me (or worse, Karen) they're in for a rough ride! I stand up for myself though I am skinny and not at all a fighter. I communicate much better through the written word than speech. My relationship with Kar is so strong that we can joke about me coming in one night with a hammer to kill her, or putting poison in her milk, and there's no offence taken, or any slight doubt that I'm joking. I sing to Eddie our fattest cat and he hates it, run away (don't blame him!) which makes me sing at him even more. I chase Ritchie, one of our other cats, around the house and he loves it.

I'm not religious and I don't believe in God, but Karen does and that's fine. I don't mock or question her religion. That's personal, and whatever helps her is fine by me. People think I'm a fricking saint for looking after her and it constantly baffles me: how could I not? Just dont' get it.

Oh, and I'm secretly Lord Commander Zog, from the Ninth Galactic Nebula, here to invade your --- WHO PROOF READ THIS? You were supposed to cut that bit OUT! Now what can I ---? Ah, just forget that last bit, yes? That's it. Okay, now I'm going to need you to look into this bright light. See how bright it is? Keep your eyes on it....
FLASH!
(Phew! That was close!)

Now then, as I was saying, I was born in....
