What phone do you have?

I currently have an iPhone 4 which is battered and scratched and slowly dying on me.

I can soon upgrade and want to try something different to the iPhone - currently thinking of the Samsung Galaxy S3 or Blackberry Z10.

What do you have? Is there one you prefer over the other? Are smartphones only novelty and you'd rather have a simple phone?

Help me decide :)

Wouldn't get a BB personally. I consider them to be little girls' phones. My cousin and all her little friends have them, bless. But I have only heard people moan about them, poor build quality and stuff.

If you're considering Androids then the S3, along with the Galaxy Note 2 are both solid choices (I'd opt for the latter of those though.)

The LG Google Nexus 4 is shit hot too. Best bang for buck phone out now, no question.

I'm using a Galaxy S2 at the moment, been umming and ahhing over whether I should sell it to fund the purchase of the Nexus 4 but can't be bothered. Will probably just wait for the S4 or the Note 2 to drop in price.

don't get the z10. you'll be disappointed with the app selection, and RIM is on a downward slope in general. their stocks are kinda plummeting. a shame too, cuz it's a neat looking piece of hardware. s3 is decent though. i stick with iphone personally, because the interface is just so simple. droid's interface looks more futuristic and cool (IMO) but there's too much going on there visually for my brain to accept it as a thing i'm going to use extensively every day. i like simple. simple is good.

addendum: i actually hate apple. i think their sh*t is too expensive, their marketing tactics lead to herd mentality, and their production methods are nothing shy of a complete and utter hypocrisy. but like i said. i like simple.

Fair play for admitting it. I can't believe people are actually fanboys for phone manufacturers btw. Fair enough if you just prefer the simpleness as Apple are the kings of ergonomics and sexiness in their products. Just makes me laugh when people light candles outside the Apple shop when Jobs dies despite the fact Apple are robbing bastards and try to stifle competition, never a good thing when one or two companies control the market as they can basically do what they like then.

I find my Droid every bit as simple as an Iphone. My friends have the iphone 5 and love it. I don't really notice a huge difference in function myself, but I think either phone would work just fine for me. Apples politics are rather disgraceful at times especially suing people for stuff that was invented and not patented by other companies and claiming proprietory rights. But they certainly have a great product and that market is never gonna evaporate.

i totally feel that... Jobs was a smart dude. but he's been portrayed with god-like attributes simply for making tech a stylish thing? lamesauce. truth be told, i think marketing is one of the sickest, vilest things going on on the planet. it just makes people stupid via indoctrinating worship for... worship. what REALLY grinds my gears about phone tech is that these things could actually change the world. on top of the fact that they perform calculations faster and more diverse than the computers that put us on the moon, we could be restoring power into the hands of the people via a new voting schema. but nooo... "i just want to check the weather and shorten my vocabulary and look real f*ckin cool while i do it."

sorry. it's an issue of contention.

Na I hear you, everything you said is true. We're all guilty of falling for it though. Like I want to replace my S2 and I've only had it since June/July and it's still one of the top phones out, does everything I need it to yet I want the Note 2 :o:

I have a Blackberry, and I don't think anyone would call me a little girl!

Seriously, it's ok. Nothing special. Only bought it for the full QWERTY. Sick of mistyping things on texts. Plus I wanted one that wouldn't download updates all night and then charge them to my bill, thanks a lot HTC!!

Yeah, I've been looking a the Z10 a bit more and it seems like there are a few faults.

I kind of like the S3 - but, kind of thinking that I'll get it and then hear that the S4 will be released like a month later. Pisses me off that phones are released so often these days.

A friend was saying about the Note - but it's too big for a girl in my opinion..!

I'm fed up of hearing this :(

Honestly though, I get what you're saying. Phones are coming out too quickly these days. That's why I'm waiitng for the S4. There is talk of the Note 3 already and Note 2 only came out in November!
