I just upgraded to the Galaxy S4
I'm sure it is, but you'd probably have to root your phone. I'm fairly sure I've seen the apps on torrent sites, so it's just a matter of downloading it and installing it without google play (which probably requires a rooted device).

Will be quality if this is possible. Gonna nick so many books & films. |

yes! Getting files on your phone is easy compared to iphone. But its even easier than you allude to. Utorrent is available in the Google Play store!

I used to pirate paid apps that occasionally worked without rooting. Just hit up The Pirate Bay or whatever torrent site you use and search for "app name apk". Download the APK and whatever else it comes with, download the File Manager app (which is free), navigate to your Downloads folder, launch the APK, and it should ask if you want to install.
EDIT: On topic, I've been using a Nexus 5 since last July, it has been pretty slow and clunky lately, crashing a lot, likely due to light water damage. Almost time for a new phone.

I stole the Harry Potter book series, they are PDF files but I dunno how to open them on the Nexus? I didn't know where to put the folder so just put it in downloads and the books weren't there. |

I use adobe reader on my galaxy. After the download, I just tap on the download completed symbol and it asks what I want to open it in, then after I open in it adobe, it's easy to find within adobe.

Galaxy s4 here, love it.
Just a point: I would keep the "stealing apps/torrents" talk to a minimum, or just PM, as Google don't like it and it could get the site into trouble. The same as we don't talk about downloading albums for free, which of course nobody here does, or would ever dream of doing. No point in making it easy for the Googletroopers!
