Getting away from the piss theme.
Paul Simonon of The Clash was the first live person other than the Queen to be photographed and put on the front of a Royal Mail stamp. The rules Royal Mail had at the time were that to be on a stamp you either had to be a reigning monarch or dead. It happened when Royal Mail issued a collection of album cover stamps of which London Calling was one of them and nobody noticed. The rules have since been changed & living people can now be featured on a stamp. ![]()
