An armchair.

^Ya, pretty sure that's the one he's looking for. I'd heard that one before. You got one, Janszoon? Gotta take my mind off studying here.

Sure. A man lives in a five story apartment building. Every morning he gets on the elevator, hits the button for the first floor, and heads off to work. Every evening he returns, pushes the button for the third floor, takes the elevator up, then walks the remaining two flights of stairs up to his apartment. Why does he do this?

In the morning is he getting on the elevator from the fifth floor?

^ Heard that one as well, so I'll refrain from answering. I'm pretty sure I didn't get the answer when I heard it though.

Since both of you already know Janszoon's one, I'll give you guys one to work on while I try to figure out that one:

There is a room with a single light bulb inside. On the outside of the room, there are three switches. Each switch is labelled 'ON/OFF' so you can tell what state they're in. One of these switches is attached to the light bulb, but the other two are not.

You begin with the room sealed off and with you on the outside of the room. You are allowed to play with the switches however you want and put them in any configuration you want. You are also allowed to walk in to the room and look at the light bulb whenever you want to - BUT you can ONLY DO THIS ONCE. The goal, of course, is to figure out which switch is attached to/controlling the light bulb. So, what would you have to do to figure it out?

If there's no time limit you could turn one switch on and leave it on for a long time. Then turn it off. Then you could flip another one on and run into the room right away. If it's off but warm, it's the switch you turned on first. If it's on, it the one you flipped on last. If it's neither, it;s the other one.
