Re: Chang Gui Do
Dear KoCPy.
You see, he's not really on a record label - he just gets them pressed up to sell where he busks. I saw him in Covent Garden too and I also love his music He USED to have a website, doesn't seem to any more which is a little worrying - I hope nothing's happened to him, he's a lovely person too (even funnier when he's drunk, I don't mean that in the wrong way, I mean he plays all the songs he wouldn't dare put on an album then!) It IS a uniquely Oriental instrument - one string and a TON of built-in reverb. Kinda ahead of its time, I mean we do things like that on computers now but they'd thought of it centuries ago. Anyway. I'm sorry I can't direct you to where to buy his CDs, but if you contact me - I hope I'm allowed to post a disguised E_mail link - at ulrich burke at hotmail dot com, I can give you free MP3s of all the tracks on the only album of his I have. It's called Green Island, it's the posher-produced re-release version and I love it like anything! (It says all over the cover 'Traditional Songs from the Orient - and then you hit 'Danny Boy' and 'Unchained Melody....!!') If you read this, then just E_mail me - this is not spam, just trying to help a member out - and I'll send you all the tracks. No spam/redirects/anything, just would like you to have the music you like. Yours respectfully Chris. |
