The guy used to annoy and even disgust me a lot and I outright insulted him on several occasions. He was not fazed though, and continued being and doing whatever he felt like, which was cool. He was also clearly intelligent, and possibly not sane.
I imagine that his life (at least the inner one) as a flagrantly horny bisexual was difficult in a country that not only discriminates against its LGBT community but also criminally punishes them. I used to wonder if the internet was his escape from Malaysia.
Now he's gone and if he did suffer from repression or humiliation in his personal life then I hope he is happier now. If death can bring such things.

Peace to the Ill Douche. I'll drink to him tonight.

In the posts from the other forums in the OP, they say "heart attack", quotes and all. Hmmm. Maybe hiding something?

Are you saying that out of skepticism or because you would be too emotional over the news?

I was skeptical at first myself, but then when it seem clear it did happen I felt sad for him.

I can't believe I'll never see that superhero duck avatar again!
Look, I didn't know him at all really, just kept up with his postings in various threads and once or twice (literally) he popped in to throw some smart comment in my journal, but he always seemed a very genuine guy who would stick to his guns no matter what, and let no-one change his mind. That might sound like a bad thing, and in some ways maybe it was, but I still respect the guy. I say that in the present tense, because he'll remain alive in our memories. Corny perhaps, but no less true.

I can remember the last post I recall reading from him was something about having lots of disposable income after his marriage failed and thinking about getting a computer or something. How surreal that now he will never do that, and no doubt that income will be going, at least in part, to fund his funeral. Really makes you think.

Damn, I'm gonna miss that guy!
RIP Howard/Il Duce/Patrick: you were one of a kind, a maverick and a trailblazer, and if there's internet in the afterlife I'm sure you're doing your best to troll it and bug the hell out of everyone.

Go well, diamond heart.

Clearly he may have killed himself, we can't know. Does it matter to you? Not to me.
He died. End of story. Judging his mode of death is arrogant and disrespectful. Stop.
