When Howard first joined Musicbanter he did so at the same time with a couple of other members from MuzikForum, and I remember at the time a few people here were worried MB was being overruned. I found out he was friends with boo (maybe it was through boo that Howard found out about this place idk). We never saw eye to eye on music except for a few bands, but he seemed eager to chat music with me, even in disagreements he wasn't mean, usually humorous.
We talked a little, thinking about it not much as I would liked. One of the last things I remember him saying was he said he was working on Everything But The Girl's catalogue backwards. So these songs are for him.

This is horrible. I know that last year I nominated Duce for most asinine and he promptly retorted via nominating me for most asinine, but I've always firmly enjoyed his stuff. We've had some good banter, especially when I've ventured to the metal side of things. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, man.

Sad news, I hope his death wasn't prolonged in anyway and that it was all very peaceful.

I'm absolutely stunned. I know I've only been here several months but he's one of members that gave me the impression of how vibrant this community is. Really amusing guy. Pass on well, dude.

I wasn't able to post about Patrick's passing until now (as MB hardly ever loads for me any more for some reason) but I was devastated last night. He truly was one of my favourite members that I completely "got" on every level. Gonna miss him more than I already was. RIP friend.

That is just so sad if it is Duce. I gave him a hard time (once in awhile) when things got boring around the forums here at MB and he always just shook it off with no problem. I don't think that anybody could insult Duce enough to make him mad, he would always come back with a coherent reply and leave it at that.

But even still! Some of his post were just so meaningless.... His post count really meant a lot to him personally I believe, and I just smile thinking about it.

Oh no. This is so sad. Howard/Duce was one of my favorites around here...if not favorite, honestly. When I first joined he was one of the members that stood out to me, not sure why, but he always had an interesting take on whatever discussion was going on and I'd look forward to seeing his opinion, regardless of how crazy it was. If my tastes can ever be half as eclectic as his were, I'd be proud. RIP

Damn. He was one inane screwball, but he's been on the site as long as me, if not longer, and he's just set the tone of the board for me so often that I honestly can't imagine the site without him. Now, who will tell us way more than we wanted to know about their sexual fetishes?

Here's some Cheap Trick for him:

Edit: Listening to this song right now, and I feel a little moisture at the corner of my eyes.

He was the same age as me, 41. RIP Patrick.
