Best avatar - The best member avatar of 2012.
Sexiest Member (male) - The male member with the most sex appeal.
Sexiest Member (female) - The female member with the most sex appeal.
Most Inane - The user who is most vocal about all the dull and irrelevant moments of their day.
Most Enigmatic - The user you find most intriguing and know very little about.
Angriest member - The bitterest member, a cynic who often responds with hostility and bitterness towards new and old members.
Biggest Drama Whore - The member who most often surrounds him or herself with drama.
Nicest member - The kindest member, always makes an effort to treat people well, with respect, and to be nice.
Best debater - The member who's best at discussing and communicating intelligently and effectively.
Worst debater - The complete opposite. The member who's presence in a discussion is usually the most disruptive
Best Writer - The best writer on the site, whether they are writing a review, a summary of their day, a rant and everything inbetween.
Biggest Virtuoso - The member with the highest level of skill with an instrumental ability.
Smartest poster - The forums smartest member.
Funniest member - The member with the best sense of humour and who often makes you laugh.
Best Mediator -The member who is best at controlling arguments, limiting negative behaviour but keeping the discussion fair, on-topic and interesting.
Biggest Troll - The member who's presence anywhere in the forums is most disruptive
Biggest contributor - The member who's posts and threads have contributed the most to the overall quality of the site in 2012.
Most Improved Member - The member who's somehow improved the most in his or her behaviour on the site in the past 12 months.
Most Underrated Poster - The site's biggest underdog - someone who's positive impact on the forums is generally underappreciated or often goes unnoticed.
Most Mainstream Music Taste - The member with the most commercial, mainstream taste in music.
Most Obscure Music Taste - The member with the most varied or obscure taste in music.
Best Music Taste - The user with your favourite music taste this year.
Biggest music nerd - The member who's most knowledgeable about music.
Best Thread Starter - The member with a consistent habit of making throught provoking threads that manage to bring the community together in healthy, lengthy topic of debate or discussion.
Most Missed Poster - The member who's presence on the boards you missed the most in 2011 due to their long periods of absence or inactivity.
Thread of the Year - Your favourite thread created or popularized in 2012.
Best Journal - The best Members Journal.
Moderator of the Year - The member of the mod team who has helped to moderate the site the most in 2012 and who's work and efforts are the most appreciated.
Best new 2012 member - The best new addition to the site in 2012.
Member of the Year 2012 - The overall best member of 2012. The member who we love, appreciate and respect the most.

First of all I would like to nominate myself for Biggest Narcissist.


Most Inane - Duh, Howard.

Angriest member - Guitar Bizarre always seems to be attacking someone or another.

Biggest Drama Whore - Hip Hop Bunny is the obvious choice.

Best debater - Tore. His posts are always well thought out and objective.

Smartest poster - Again, Tore.

Funniest member - Janzsoon. He doesn't flood the site with aas much jokes and asininery (if it's not a word, it is now) as I do, but when he has a quip, it always counts.

Biggest Troll - HHBH. He doesn't flood the site with as much nonsense as Franco, but he is the most obviously antagonistic.

Most Underrated Poster - Unkown Soldier. He is always contributing to the Rock/Metal section with good threads. If he had more of a taste for alternative I imagine he would get more acknowledgement.

Most Obscure Music Taste - I guess it would have to be between Urban, Janzsoon, and Jackhammer. Of course, my own musical knowledge isn't nearly as great and diverse as any of these people, so it's hard for me to judge. It also helps that they are all ancient.

Best Thread Starter - I don't know. Urban? He seems to have a knack for making seemingly jokey threads that start legitimate conversations.

Best new 2012 member - I guess I'd have to say Rjinn. It's not often that you get a new member that just drops into a forum and immediately fits in without any period of awkwardness.

Can we have a Lord of Mediocrity category? I have no idea who would be in it, but it just sounds like it should exist.

Finally, an award I can nominate Franco for. Good lookin' out homie.

I think I say this every year, but I'm not in favor of having negative awards. I feel like they turn a fun event into an opportunity for people to be assholes to each other.

I'm pretty sure that's what goes on the rest of the year on MB anyway.

That's why this should be different. :)

Best Music Taste- I would say Trollheart. He has always manage to surprise.
Best Journal- Trollheart
Funniest Member- HHBH. He is real and sometimes he knows how to be funny whether it is good or not. That is up to you.
Biggest Drama Whore- URBAN. He is the maddest moderator out of all members but he is very entertaining.
I will see more later.

It's not everyday that a black African has nice things to say about a proclaimed racist, I'm sure if you two met and talked about cultural issues, you'd get along like a house on fire.

I'm on the fence about the negative awards. Part of me says they are only in jest but then I've noticed that it can be seen as a way to justify insulting somebody outright.

Maybe include some movie associated noms like biggest movie geek or favourite movie reviewer? The movie threads on here have really come alive within the past 12 months.

Best beard should be there of course and no mine isn't the best here at all, it's probably the fecking oldest though.

I think we should consider a Lifetime Achievement Award. Not only does it give respect to the member who's made the biggest, perhaps longest contribution to the site, who without them you couldn't really see the forum existing, at least in its current form, but once they've won it, they have to start considering that their life is pretty much now over, and contemplate the futility of existence.
