Hip replacement. He's really young for it, but it's an old injury that he never got properly treated coming back to bite him. Bone on bone in the joint now.

He's in good shape otherwise, except for depression/anxiety.

He will be fine.

Is it you who is anxious or him? Either way, I like to cuddle my cat, the purrs are quite therapeutic and I feel better after it. It does help.

I'm anxious about it. If he is, he's doing a pretty good job of concealing it.

Time to cuddle my fish then. :D Thanks, mate.

Thanks, LiL. I've never had somebody close to me go through surgery before, so it's tough. I'm just trying to give him the love and support he needs right now.

My little old gran had to go through a double hip replacement when I was about 11. She was only about 55/56 at the time, not terribly old at all. I was sent to take care of her off and on throughout her recovery. She turned up just fine!

If you want my number, send me a PM. I'll be more than happy to offer my comfort anytime you need.

I'm unsure, I've never met anyone with schizophrenia but I know it's very likely to run in my family. But when I'm not all panicy I feel pretty functional, I just don't know if that's me actually being functional or if I've convinced myself by burying my anxiety.

There's a Schizophrenia test. It's just a video/gif, and depending on what you see and how it affects you, you may or may not have the condition. It's not foolproof, but apparently it's very accurate:

This is a joke isn't it?

A woman's head going left and then right.

EDIT - Sorry for jumping in there, my dad is schizophrenic. Wait for The Dude to reply first if I've spoiled anything.

No, it's real.
Spoiler for your answer:
And congrats, you probably don't have Schizophrenia.

Thanks a million, and I might take you up on that offer down the line. Glad to hear your gran is doing well.

You folks are the greatest.

What are some of your favorite activities? I've struggled with borderline personality disorder for years and find that distracting myself or engaging in something I love to do really helps when my emotions get overwhelming. I do a lot of cleaning with the music cranked up if I'm in a bind, and I love to cook so I try challenging myself with hard recipes. Your dad will be okay though, mine had the same surgery and it went smoothly.

party time m8

I'm just looking on the internet about this now.

Spoiler for Question:
How does this work? And I'm assuming this means nothing in terms of whether you'll develop it later?

Here, I originally found it in this article, and they go a bit more in depth with it:
