i feel like i have maybe another year of smoking tops before i get either cancer or emphysema. might just be paranoia cause i hear my lungs whistling and a friend of mine was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer about a year ago.

with me it's

"I should really quit drinking."

I don't drink heavily or anything but what I drink is pretty heavy and I'm at it a few times a week. I keep telling myself that substantial damage might be irreversible and really expensive to manage but I just like everything better when I'm drunk.

I'm sober tonight but I have a real penchant for sleeping pills, so they're an adequate stand-in once in a while.

I also really need to start eating properly again.

I've been really rude to myself for a few weeks.

Please give up smoking. Even though you can be very upfront and a little mean, you're a decent person and you deserve a better fate than this.

i take a ton of dxm these days and then wash it down with booze a few hours later when i need to get to sleep

i know... i'm going to drop the dxm habit pretty soon
