Kids today are so remedial.
I used to line up a row of AA, or C batteries as long as I could reach. Then licked a finger, put my tongue on one end, and the wet finger on the other end. Copper taste was a minor side effect, the main one being a shock to the head, usually accompanied by a flash of white light. I thought this was a normal thing for kids to try but I guess I just grew up in a better public school system than most.

Well, I did stick a steak knife into a socket once, when I was like 6 or 7. I still have a scar from the exit burn. How I managed to acquire a steak knife will remain a mystery, but it could be that my parents were just not paying attention.

That's insane. Everybody learned from an early age not to do that. You must have had very inattentive parents.
The battery thing was when I was 12 or 13. Old enough to know about how to determine a battery's strength with a tongue but too young not to experiment with that knowledge.

Well I was a lot younger and more gullible LOL. It was meant to repel cows so I don't imagine it would be lethal. It had quite a kick but I regret nothing .

And I did learn not to do that, I just wanted to know WHY, haha. My parents are good parents, but not perfect (well compared to some of my friends' parents and stupid parents you see on TV, they practically are). I turned out okay.
