Question for any artists or people in bands out there

Obviously the internet is riddled with 100,001 different websites for bands and artists out there to help spread the word about themselves to the masses.

But with respect to facebook, soundcloud, reverbnation, etc. How do these sites not actually live up to their abilities to do what you want them to as a musician. What services from a website would better serve your needs as an artist or band and help you sell your music, share your music, find band member replacements, score gigs around the country or anything else?

I'd like to hear what you opinions.
