So there's this obnoxious bitch in my office....

she thinks she knows a lot about law, but can't even deal with basic procedures

sucks up to the boss and is argumentative with everybody

is totally incompetent and claims she stays back because she is "hardworking"

tries to control my finances even though she has no say in it

refuses to do any of the senior partners' work

is apple-polishing the bosses' wife by virtue of her "strident" faith

whatever shall I do with her?

(short of hiring a Mafia assassin)

Plant drugs on her, heard they carry quite the sentence in your part of the world.

This is really the only solution.

If her behaviour is directly affecting your ability to do your job then address it with your manager or an HR representative.

The only legitimate professional concern you present is your claim that she's trying to control your finances. How is this even possible?

EVERYTHING else about your complaint is projection and completely irrelevant to anything besides a childish he said / she said argument. You need specific examples of her behaviour and the detrimental effects it has within the workplace.

You don't need to like your co-workers and they don't need to like you; but all of you need to be able to work together and respect each other enough to get the job done. The way you describe her is rather bias, pointed, and unprofessional, and that reflects poorly ON YOU.

There's nothing you really can do unless what she's doing is directly affecting your work, unfortunately. Idiots slip through the cracks in every workplace. Best course of action is to just ignore her as best you can.

Have a little patience, eventually she'll screw herself somehow. That way you can watch too.
