Wilhem Reich

Reich was a Psychoanalyst who studied under Freud but later rejected all of Freud's teachings and started to follow what he considered the discovery of all life force energy and or God (as some may term it) which he called Orgone Energy....he stated that all neurosis is "rooted in the physical, sexual, economic, and social conditions of the patient".....he felt that it was in fact orgone energy that will save us as human beings with the help of orgone energy accumulators and ultimately save the planet with what he called "cloud busters"

he lived in germany during the rise of the nazi's and was almost immediately considered an enemy of the state for many pamphlets he had written and his amazing book "The Mass Psychology of Fascism"....he fled to Oslo....where he was later attacked by Red fascists and was forced to flee to the one place he felt he could be free to do his amazing research....America

boy was he wrong....in 1947 he was attacked by a journalist "Brady wrote: "Orgone, named after the sexual orgasm, is, according to Reich, a cosmic energy. It is, in fact, the cosmic energy. Reich has not only discovered it; he has seen it, demonstrated it and named a town—Orgonon, Maine—after it. Here he builds accumulators of it, which are rented out to patients, who presumably derive 'orgastic potency' from it."Sharaf writes that the implication was clear: the accumulators gave orgastic potency, the lack of which causes cancer. Therefore, the claim for the accumulators was that they cured cancer. Brady argued that the "growing Reich cult" had to be dealt with."

in 1956 he was arrested and ALL of his equipment was destroyed the US government and on August 23, six tons of his books, journals, and papers were burned in the 25th Street public incinerator in New York's lower east side by the FDA (a government agency)

he died in prison
