I get accepted onto this apprenticeship on monday.

I had either quit Uni after one year or actually tried to pass.

You and me both buddy. Gotta love getting the runaround from a potential employer who doesn't understand that YOU DON'T DISCUSS SALARY UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO HIRE! (and not withing a few months or so '...when a position opens up' as it has turned into - now...)

On the plus side, I just dodged a bullet because there's no way an interview / hiring process that inept can be indicative of any sort of worthwhile employment.
