Heh. You and I have even more in common than I thought.

I'm a waste management consultant and have a masters degree in this. In theory this should be a great job, but it really sucks at the moment due to the continuing global recession, as nobody really gives a crap at the moment about waste minimisation in the UK. I actually work from home, due to cutbacks in the industry. Before that I worked as an estate agent and times were really good and before that..............well piss off, I'm not telling my life story on here!

I know the feeling, I got my first real job at a lumberyard when I was 15 because my grandfather use to own it. As labourous as the job was, going home tired but with a feeling of accomplishment was nice. I've always been interested in masonry, I tried forming but absolutely hated it, same with steel-stud framing.

Yup. That's what I miss the most. And what kind of forming do you mean?

Concrete forming, I would not recommend it.

Unless you enjoy working with industrial grade dildos.

I had a Job that involved pouring lots of concrete every mourning, and being i was the young guy, and the new guy, i always go stuck with the vibrator. I'd never felt so shafted.

Oh okay! So that is what you meant. I was never sure if the vernacular my dad uses was the real terminology or not, but I guess it is. We do that quite a bit! I usually didn't mind forming too much, since it wasn't too hard of a job. It could get annoying when trying to make everything level, but it's not as bad as when you have to pour the concrete. Especially if you have to do it by wheelbarrow. Even more so if you have to push that wheelbarrow up a hill. That was a bad day.

We never used one of those before. I assume it was to get rid of the air bubbles? That's the only thing I can think of. It's hard to tell what it even is. The only electric equipment we used was a chop saw, a cement mixer, and sometimes a trowel machine (very rarely). Sometimes we rented a jackhammer, but my dad usually liked to save money so we almost always just stuck with a sledgehammer.

I'm a chef but truth be told it's not exactly high end and the pay is crap but I have been working with food in some capacity or other for well over 10 years now either as a chef or manager.

I really would love to work in the music business as a journalist or something similar.
