I genuinely 100% don't believe you. I've never 100% believed that dirt was actually a legitimate member ever. I've always suspected some sort of elaborate sockpuppet.

I'm not even a mod, and I know that in a typical vbulletin forum, it's not possible to make an account under the same name of another member (banned or not), and I don't see any reason to suspect that the mods are behind this, and to say that dirt gave the password to the mods is pretty ridiculous, because a mod isn't supposed to log in under a different name without consent from other mods, plus, it just seem downright pointless to do so. I thought this was a pretty legitimate thread from the OP to be honest.

I didn't even have a clue who this dirt mcgirt character was until he started posting again. You can believe whatever you want, but the fact is that the IP addresses linked to his account don't turn up any other users. Even if a mod did somehow magically obtain the password to his account, it's not me. And I'm sure that there's been a few changes to the moderation team since this guy last posted, which had to have been at least 3 years ago seeing as I had no idea who he even was, really. Also, like milano stated, you can't make a new account using an existing username, active or banned.

I think most of us know mcgirt is not a creation of the mods. If we were to create a character around here, we'd probably do something more epic than creating mcgirt, who is inconsequential for any sort of ultimate purpose, especially after this many years he's been around without a punchline.

Dirty could have very well been one bug dupe. Whomever the mod doing it has eratic behavior and a taste for trollery. I feel freebase is not the culprit but I nominate Conan as the imposter.
