Does everything potentially troublesome that happens in 2012 have to be linked to the mayan prophecy?

Yeah, my wife bought the cheap brand of toilet paper a few weeks ago which is really rough and scrapes your ass when you wipe. It's that damn mayan prophecy coming true, I tell ya.
