The Injured List
People like threads where they can moan about things so here's one.
What aches & pains do you have to endure on a daily basis? This morning I woke up with the left side of my face numb and pain in my ear due to what the doctor tells me is probably a trapped nerve in my jaw. He told me I can have surgery on it but now I'm just used to the constant pain in it although some days it's worse than others. I also have partial to no feeling in my right hand middle finger from when I sliced it open as a teen. I also get really bad pains in my left knee joints that I twisted when I used to play rugby which sometimes spreads to my hip due to how I have to walk to accommodate it. Also I'm slightly flat footed so being on my feet for 10 hours a day at work can be a killer. Your turn fellow cripples.

My upper back and neck have been completely messed up for nearly a month and the only thing that makes it feel even slightly better is lying flat on my back on a firm surface. Simple things like sitting in a chair watching TV quickly become extremely uncomfortable so I am constantly moving around, standing up, switching chairs, trying to stretch, etc. It really blows and makes sitting still for an eight hour day of work pretty difficult.

at the same time it could be worse.....it just does not feel like it right now |

I have some internal scarring from when I had about a metre of small intestines removed, makes me feel like I'm gonna puke most of the day. Crazy arse dog bite on my left leg which itches at weird times, nerve damage in the left leg from when my appendix exploded which is why I had the small guts removed too... Some lower back pains since last year which make me think I might have cancer...gonna get that checked out other than that, I'm a ****in achilles.

Almost don't want to post any complaints from me, someone will probably tell me to man up, but here goes anyway: As some people know I do a lot of competitive cross country running, without doubt the SHITTIEST sport ever devised, and it takes it's toll on people quite a lot. Some time last December, my knees really started to hurt at the joints from the constant pounding since we had to run on tarmac because we're all fucking pussies and scared to get our pale lags all muddy from all the shit lying around in Manchester... And one night I was a bit late getting out and we had a seven mile training run, and I wanted to catch up so I didn't do up the laces for my trainers. And since they weren't tight, after only about ten minutes, I had blisters on each foot from the chafing against the loose shoes, which eventually forced me to stop. Well, as soon as I'd dipped them in the lake or done something similarly retarded (there was a small gap in the ice), I put my shoes back on and continued at a much slower pace. And this is the important bit: I carried on running on the sides of my feet so the blisters weren't too badly scraped, but this meant that there was the entire weight of my body placed on the sides, which is really bad for the joints there. And I was crazy enough to complete the entire run like that. After all that, it appeared there were several medical consequences: I'd somehow got the nearest I could to having a dropped arch, I'd pulled a tendon, and one of the blisters was peeled off and it hurt like hell... |
