Default Fashion Police Thread

When i leave my cave to go and get shampoo or blunt wraps I sometimes see people wearing things that absolutely boggle my mind. This thread serves as a means to vent about particular items or styles that are not acceptable.

These kind of of shoes (MALE)

These shoes scream out "i dont care" in a bad way. If you wear these kinds of shoes your a symbol of independence in a negative sense. All the other proclaimed "independent" people would not be caught dead in these shoes, trust me. No, those people are wearing thick rimmed glasses and some dirty vans. This specific type of independence is the result of being un-susceptible to advertising, peer pressure or social norms. Your saying, "not only am i not cool, I have not the faintest idea of what cool would be, nor have I ever associated with anyone cool. Shoes to me are merely a function".

Gross.

Sparkly Shirts (FEMALE)

If the aforementioned shoes screamed "I dont care" this shirt would scream "I care way, way too much". I see girls wear this kind-off shirt and it drives me crazy. A girl who wears this shirt is starving for attention from everyone. "I will cause solar reflections until i get you boys attention goddamit"

It would be ideal for biking at night in, no need for any other reflector.

Tapout Clothing (MALE)

This one is fairly self-explanatory i believe. If you like UFC enough to wear their brand name clothing around chances are your relatively dumb. At least many profession sports brand feature good color schemes and cute fuzzy critters. Tapout is like a gothic version of EdHardy. The "Tapout" logo is never really centered properly either, and makes the ex-graphic designer in me wanna rip my soul apart.

Skinny Jean Cutoffs (Male)

I know it's not season right now, but I've harbored resentment against this style for quite some time. Why ruin perfectly good jeans? I could undertand if it was your old ****ty arizona carptenter jeans, but those skinny levi's run at least 50$ a pair. You don't even get airflow in your crotch area because skinny jeans are designed to hug your knees, so your ass is still going to be sweating like crazy anyway.

So, what appalling fashion do yall have to tolerate in your daily lives?

Hahaha the first one is completely me, although I'm not trying to make a statement about it. They're just comfortable...

Plus, if this man wears them, that's good enough for me.

Thom Yorke im sure you own that swag bro, this thread is not referring to you.

But yeah suit with tennis shoes isn't even in my jurisdiction, that calls for the fashion FBI.

Agreed about the sneakers, and definitely Tapout. Affliction is pretty horrible too.

You've already deeply offended me. You can't take that back.

I've actually gone to a club in boots before, which I admittedly felt some shame in doing.

I hate light blue jeans. Especially on girls for some reason. Then again I pretty much only like tights on girls haha as bad as that sounds

yeah man those tights are great.

I used to hate it when it got colder because girls stopped wearing booty shorts and it made my classes seem way longer. But with these tights females shapes are even more revealing, year round. Where do you even go from there? I don't know how you can make sexier "pants" than that.

People who wear this look ridiculous. Hooded wifebeaters, just insanely ugly. When I see someone with this on I just think they're trying to be in a Nelly video or something.

I wear shoes like that. Why? Because that's what they gave me when I went to the Mission to get free shoes when my last pair fell apart. Some people are too poor to care about fashion. You're right. I'm not cool, I've never been cool, and I've never associated with anyone cool. But, I couldn't care less about 'cool'. What's wrong with being unsusceptible to advertising, peer pressure, or social norms? I say screw all of that. And I guess that's your point. But what's wrong with that? For a second I thought surely you must be facetious or sarcastic, but when finished reading I ... think you really feel that way. I don't get advertised to anyway as I don't watch TV or read magazines. I only have three friends in the world and we're all fairly similar in this regard. And social norms - I poop on those. Even if I had money, I wouldn't jump on the hipster "don't care" look because I think they look stupid. Not as stupid as Tap-Out but pretty lame. But I certainly can not be bothered with fashion in the least.

^The irony for me in your dislike of men's wearing Asics running shoes is that someone who is unsusceptible to advertising, peer pressure, or social norms and views shoes as a function is exactly the sort of person I think is coolest!

Running shoes are good for your feet, don't have leather, breathe well, and are comfortable. They also allow sprints when necessary, in case the urge or need to run overcomes the wearer.

The one negative I see in Asics gels is that they suggest the person is willing to pay $80 for shoes when perhaps a $14 pair of Target Prospirits (MY favorite brand!) would suffice, especially since many people don't actually jog or run. Being thrifty is cool.

My idea of cool:

$14 Prospirit running shoes, intended for men, but good for women, too!

YOU, Mrd00d, epitomize cool. You're not a follower, you think for yourself, and you don't waste money on frivolous stuff because you have more important things to care about and uses for your money.

However, just so you know, I've always thought Asics running shoes are cool, so I was surprised to read the OP thinks otherwise. People may be looking at you and your shoes and thinking, "Cool!" even though that wasn't your intention when wearing them!
