We moved into our place 20 years ago and have had the same neighbors on both sides of us the entire time. Our kids grew up together and we've always had each other's backs. (we all have keys for the 3 homes) It's a cool feeling.

Years back, the neighbors on the right were on vacation in Spain and their house was broken into (smashed window). Called them and they authorized me to act of their behalf until they returned. I was able to let the cops into their home and point out the obvious things that had been stolen or ****ed with. Also patched the window, kept an eye on things and talked with them the whole time.

Neighbors on the left were in Hawaii and the wife was hit by a car. Again, we were in communication for the six weeks she was in the hospital. Took their newspapers in, grabbed their mail, and watched over their son, who was home from college one of those weeks. Took out their garbage too.

We let each other's pets out to pee all the time too.

Defo, when we had a house fire ours helped us out a lot, the house was obviously fucked and they (couple in their 40s, the guy was particularly cool) gave us the house key and let us stay in it all day while they were at work.

Invited us in at 7am after seeing us stood outside dressed in not a lot waiting for the fire engines l0l

I told the guy I just killed my weed plants and threw them away (were just about to flower) and he said I could have just left them with him I felt gutted but I couldn't risk leaving anything tbh.
