Piotr sent this to me today. I like it very much, and think it is awesome:

Glad you like it, dude.
I thought it was pretty neat. |
This, right here, is awesome. Back in the 50s and 60s (I think) a radio producer by the name of Tony Schwartz made a series of recordings of his niece Nancy during the first 12 or so years of her life. The YouTube video below (which is actually just audio) is an audio montage he made from those recordings compressing her development from the age of one month to the age of twelve or thirteen into about two minutes. I think it's fascinating and can't stop listening to it.

I'd like to suggest some of the musical virtuosity can itself be considered "awesome", because although we are used to hearing high quality musical artistry everyday, there are sometimes absolutely exceptional displays of skill that are frankly jaw dropping.
And I'm going to be an absolute wanker here and use as an example my hero Chris Thile for about the third time this week, who I'm putting down as the most talented musician of all time in my opinion. Here are a few selections: ^^ Possibly one of the longest notes sung I've ever heard. ^^ Although the singing from Michael Daves is slightly cringe-worthy, that ought to impress just about anyone. Have you listened to much bluegrass aside from what you posted above, Salami? You might appreciate some of the old time players if you enjoy that kind of virtuosity.

I am very keen on bluegrass, although I listen a lot to stuff like Steel Drivers, Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek etc. I am also very keen on some of the early influences on this genre like delta blues - I love Blind Lemon, Jimmy Rogers etc. I'll gladly say that I'm still barely acquainted with it, so I'd be delighted to listen to anything you'd like to suggest! |

I don't know what this is or how I got here, but I can't stop watching it. It's just so...so...enthralling. It definitely has me under it's hold, and that is indeed awesome.

City in the Sky. One of those architectural utopias. It will probably never be a real project, but, at least, it is an artistically interesting video. City in the sky on Vimeo |
Yesterday. A thunder storm during the match between Ukraine and France in Donetz (Ukraine):

Personally, I hate the word "awesome", but it's about the only way this can be described.
For some unknown reason this guy has not posted part 1/4, but you really have to hear this performance of the famous dark poem from the movie "Poe: the last days of the raven". I've seen the movie twice, and would easily watch it a few more times. Just stunning, best rendition of Poe I've ever seen. |
