I'm just surprised that he got a grammy is all. He's been active for two decades, and now he gets one, dude doesn't even say anything or care. Just uploads free unreleased music to basement dwellers, and talks about drugs with commenters. If anything, I think it's hilarious he would rather talk about a spectrum computer sampler than acknowledge a known award, no matter how questionable.

depends on how you define "best" but most sports (basketball being an exception) have scoring based off rare events so luck plays a huge role in any singular game.

a game of chess is won based on the rare event of a checkmate thus luck determines who wins

Ninetales 02-08-2015 10:07 PM

the amount of events that occur in most sports is much higher than in a game of chess

im obviously not saying skill means nothing but luck exists in sports.

luck exists in everything. i'm just saying skill means a lot more.

I don't know what the numbers are in football/chess but Ive seen studies on hockey in which luck is almost just as important over an entire 82 game season than skill. id assume randomness is more prevalent in hockey than football and certainly chess tho. still I think its a facet that people have a tendency to attribute to skill anyway ("you have to be good to be lucky").
