Guilty as charged. Just replace retarded with passionate.

Well, in their defense, at least they're not soccer fans.

Either that or a couple teams who got lucky get to find out who isn't the best team of the year in the Superbowl. The NBA Playoffs might go on WAY too long, but at least they're better for figuring out which team actually deserves to win a championship.
in fairness, 7 game series involve a lot of randomness too, just less so than the one game playoffs. it always amuses me that sports fans in general have such a ridiculous inability to acknowledge the role luck plays in individual games.

In most cases the best team is going to win, but ya, there's times where a ridiculous play or two will turn things upside down.
Last week's SB came down to an absolutely great defensive play. The DB recognized the play before the ball was even snapped. He broke on it and got to the ball before the receiver did. And the other DB didn't allow the pick to happen. Plus the QB made a bad pass. Don't throw it out in front like that.
