hip hop bunny hop 12-21-2011 01:59 AM

A real difficulty here; do I prefer the character from the **** series of novels, or the **** rapper?

Sparky 12-21-2011 02:02 AM

Should be noted that this is Rooney Mara from Girl With the Dragon Tattoo only, not any other entries in the series.

I know a gigantic series about child abuse in Sweden might disgust you, but they are number one bestsellers, and people really like them.

Plenty of terrible things sell well, and its no secret people are idiots.

Also, dark story matter doesn't actually mean a thing is mature or well done, and being a best seller doesn't mean the book is any good. I mean for gods sake, have you ever READ some of the schlock that ends up on best sellers lists? Its a neverending torrent of crap crime fiction and pretentious **** and the only reason its there is bored housewives and because theres never anything else on the book racks at newsagents. Ever tried to find a fantasy or scifi novel at a train station bookstore? (Which is pretty much the place that matters when dealing with bestsellers, because people will buy a book before a long journey or whatever.) Nope. Not gonna find it. Its *ALL* terrible romance and "Crime Thrillers".

Salami 12-21-2011 05:48 AM

Don't think for a moment I like them. One of my friends brought a copy of it with him when we went on holiday to the Lake District, and since it rained so much I thought I'd read some of it. Started off with this woman shagging some 16 year old Jamaican, an immediately moved on to weird child abuse stuff, which really creeped me out.

Anyway, regardless of whether I like the book or not, I think Rooney is well scary and her face rings freak me out.

DoctorSoft 12-21-2011 01:41 PM

Kreayshawn cuz she's hot af.

James 12-21-2011 01:44 PM

I don't understand. Why compare these two people? I think I will make a thread called Tom Waits vs Shrek and see how many serious responses I get.

I do have an opinion on it, so by all means go ahead.

Haha! I don't get the question either, but I didn't want to complain because I thought I'd look dumb for missing something obvious. Clearly I'm not the only one.

Phantom Limb 12-21-2011 01:59 PM

Why the does there need to be a reason?

^Because there's something called spam.

On the subject of the thread: What?

Yeah, even this thread had a point to it.

Sparky 12-21-2011 02:31 PM

Maybe this thread is about appreciating two talented, modern, influential women. Maybe this thread is trying to see which characteristics, we as a society, value more highly.

It's a small lenient study in women's objectification and portrayal in media. If you could please just provide an opinion, it would go a long way.

Phantom Limb 12-21-2011 02:31 PM

The point is "which one do you prefer?" Vote or GTFO.

James 12-21-2011 02:32 PM

Is Kreayshawn really all that relevant or influential?

Though various sub-culture mediums she is, i e various internet social media/pop news/hip hop outlets. The song "gucci gucci" has over 20 million views on youtube, and picked at number 18 on the billboard charts.

She's not Eva Peron (yet) but she's still influential in the ever faster stratosphere of the internet.

The books are horrible because they're horrible. The only thing disgusting about them is how they pander to a left-liberal sentiment in a rather idiotic manner; the plucky journalist, the abused girl who's really a genius but the government officials just don't get it, etc.

Christ, nearly every woman in the series is a sort of Feminist super-hero; the body builder, the hacker, the manager, etc. Contrast this to portrayal of males in the books; the only ones who are portrayed in a consistently positive manner are "the plucky journalist", "the jewish cop", "the immigrant brazilian boxer", etc.

I read the series, so there is redeeming entertainment value, but for ****s sake....

LINK - women like being eyeballed, and have a crisis of confidence when men stop eyeballing them them. So, please, stop saying they're "objectified".

Anyways, push come to shove, I'd take the girl playing Lisbeth.

Sparky 12-21-2011 03:00 PM

Just because some of them may like it doesn't mean they're not being objectified, it's the same for males.

None of that means she's influential or relevant.

For example, this video has over THREE HUNDRED MILLION VIEWS. Thats 15 times the number of views kreayshawn has. Are you going to make the case these ****s are influential too?

Not all Jews are Zionists.
And Kreayshawn's last name is Zolot coincidentally. Also, I choose her over the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo because Kreayshawn is adorable and she has visible eyebrows.

Also, Shrek is way cuter than Tom Waits.

What? Maybe I missed something.
I know several American Jews who don't consider themselves Jewish in the religious sense and don't care much about Israel.

On topic: Since we're maybe supposed to be political on this thread I'll add that Kreayshwan's career is more interesting and empowering of women than Mara's career.

Kidding. Sort of ribbing on Bunny Hop's posting style.

Who knows right?

And remember, this is just mara as the girl with the dragon tattoo, not her career or who she is.

I suppose I need to actually watch the movie before I can answer then. Regardless, the invisible eyebrows are a serious detriment if we're talking about physical looks. Also, the poll should probably not use the Girl with the Tattoo's name real name. After all, Kreayshawn only has her stage name up there. It's confusing.

Well you see, it's Kreayshawn as she is perceived by public vs Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander/Girl with Dragon Tattoo, if that makes more sense.

And the movie was meh, seemed kinda rushed. I was bored during it, though i thought the torture scene was pretty rad and better then the swedish version.

Goofle 12-22-2011 03:36 PM

The hot one.

Sparky 12-23-2011 12:20 AM

After some very aggressive discourse and thorough deliberation I have deemed it necessary to add one more contestant.

MILA KUNIS IN BLACK SWAN

http://cdn.sheknows.com/articles/201...-interview.png

http://www.beyondhollywood.com/uploa...ack-swan-1.jpg

oh my god so sexy...

PROS
-Very talented ballet dancer
-Seems outgoing and doesn't worry about what others think of her
-Has had imaginary sex with natalie portman on one occasion

CONS
-May or may not be a metaphor for temptation or demon
-Does not make a good impression on moms
-Pushes drug and alcohol consumption onto others, possible sign of own self drug abuse?

Will see if a mod can fix the poll asap

GuitarBizarre 12-23-2011 03:57 AM

After some very silly discourse and thorough stupidity, I have deemed it necessary to add one more contestant.

FAT BASTARD IN AUSTIN POWERS

http://b.pcb1.fubar.com/01/05/885010/2952887463.jpg
http://static.moviefanatic.com/image...at-bastard.jpg

oh my god so shagadelic

PROS
-Very Talented Secret Agent
-Seems outgoing and doesn't worry about what others think of him.
-Had sex with that blonde girl who stuck something up his backside.

CONS
-May or may not eat children
-Does not make a good impression on anyone
-Invites the mind to consider impossible sexual mechanics owing to extreme girth.

Will see if a mod can fix the poll asap.

Salami 12-23-2011 04:11 AM

You put a lot of work into this!

Also worth considering is Susan Boyle. She's as well known as Kreayshawn, but perhaps a better singer in many people's opinion.

She is also about equal to Fat Bastard in terms of sex appeal.

Paedantic Basterd 12-23-2011 10:34 AM

It took me this entire thread to figure out that Kreayshawn wasn't the girl playing in the Swedish film.

Seriously, this all seems like it belongs in Marry, Shag, or Avoid.

Just found it weird how you praised another inane thread you created simply for being inane while seemingly insulting this one for being inane.
