All of mine were hilariously easy, as I recently completed my final English course with an A+ just a week ago. I've had lessons in advanced english composition and comprehension since I started high school so writing has always come pretty easy to me.

Hmm, maybe this would get some more action in this thread.

Eh? I wrote plenty of essays while in college, but never had to write one to get into college My entire thing - during high school - was to coast by solely on my test grades. During my junior and senior years I would generally just ignore whatever the teacher was saying and just read a book I brought with me. Needless to say, this is what I also did during my seemingly endless stints of in-school suspension.
Somehow this panned out - despite graduating with something like the 3rd worst GPA in my class of 80 or so, the college i ended up going to sent me - in the same packet - (1) an acceptance letter, (2) notice that I received a scholarship, and (3) a letter stating that I was on academic probation already for failure to meet minimum entry requirements.

Not really, most of my life I've haven't gotten to choose the subject matter of my essays. This year was no different, as we had 6 papers and only 2 of them were on topics of our choosing. Mastering cold writes, i.e. thinking critically about subjects you may not care for or even dislike, is far more tedious yet rewarding than just writing about what you like imo. Still, when I did get the opportunity to write about what I like I found myself writing more fluently because I had a knowledge base on my topics which allowed me to assemble my thoughts better.

Yeh I'm much the same had a real corker of an essay yesterday 'The Role of the European Competition Network and what it means for the implementation of EU competition law in Ireland', got it done, reckon it was good enough for a decent grade but christ I felt like topping myself while writing it.
