Dirty died from all of the awesome unprotected sex he's had since he left MB. I hope that answers your quest-tche-awn.
|
Member known for causing **** gets banned. Surprised = Nobody.
|
He sounds like a noble man, I wish I was like him.

Maybe because I understand the culture that guy came from, but I never thought anything he said was that inflammatory.
So he got into a spat with Vanilla. We can all be bitches at one time or another. No reason to hold a grudge over it. This "holier-than-thou" kind of mentality (some of) the mods have adhered to kind of pisses me off. I'm not going to name names, but I know who the stuck-ups are. I'm kind of incensed at all the different enigmatic personalities that got banned over the years. boo boo, CAPTAIN CAVEMAN, Flower Child (dear god how did that happen!) were all immense contributors in their own lens. It just seems like MB is migrating further and further away from the tolerant and respectful place that I cherished once. Hopefully that might change. |
Does anyone have a quick run down of why he got banned? I know he was kind of edgy, but was there anything he did in particular? He was actually one of my favourite members on MB.

And Flower Child requested to banned herself so you can put the angst away on that one. |

or this or perhaps... both... |

I also feel that MB has too many mods to work as a cohesive unit. There are people like SATCHMO who float in and out but never regularly post any more, and there are other people who I just don't think have a good grip on how the internet and forums work in general and shouldn't be mods. MB's team, while consisting of some very awesome and hard-working members, is also too bloated, and I really do think only very active mods should retain their status. |
I've taken it upon myself as a personal mission to channel Ethan as much as I can since he left. If that involves pissing a bunch of people off here, I'm glad to be of service.
Fuck the hive. |
Oh, how I miss CC. His banning was one of the worst. He's still here though, but posting under a different name (Ethan told me, but couldn't remember what his new username was). He must have changed his style of posting as well.

I miss Dirty. He's a complete lunatic but he seemed like a good guy to me who was in the end, making life the hardest on himself. I dunno, I somehow had a weak spot for the idiot.
And I still think it sucks that I never got to know Boo Boo :). The fact that people still talk about him after more than a year tell me he shouldn't be banned. He may be hard to maintain, but he sure as hell is interesting :D |
@RVCA: The nice thing about having such a large team is that it accounts for extra curricular circumstances: Some of the mods are having family emergencies and internet outages right now, and simply can't dedicate the time to the site for the moment. It makes the workload manageable for everyone when there is always someone online, round the world, who can pitch in while they're here. If you pared it down to only the mods who are here constantly, you'd have a team that could never manage the workload.

He just got himself butt-hurt a lot when people didn't sugarcoat their opinions on prog. I never had any beef with him, but he seemed to really hold a grudge against me and it totally bummed me out when I found out he jumped the shark. I think I might have given him an infraction for something stupid and he probably took it way too personally. |

And I sorta decided not to mention boo boo again. I see the problem now. The guy somehow seemed interesting. I guess he was, but not in a good way :) |
I would almost say 'bring him back' if he wasn't spamming the **** out of the shoutie, and being annoying. Dirty is a nice guy, but his 'crazy personality' basically shoots him in the foot.
Christ though, I've never seen the guy expand his music tastes at all. He only talks about hip-hop, and always the same crap about being disappointed about black guys with swag. I don't understand why he's so attached to this place, really. He barely actually ever seemed to care about music. He could be brought back to the forums, but really all that would mean is a trillion more frat boyisms in the shoutie. |
That's a fact. He's a nice guy, but he's not really into music that much.
That's a pity. |
Are people still going on about Dirty? To be honest I'm glad he's gone. He was no addition to this place in terms of the music side of things and I didn't find him any way entertaining, funny or clever in the slightest, although that's probably down to cultural differences more so. Can we just get over him and never speak of him again?
|
Nah. That would be cruel.
I thought he was definitely a real 'character' here. I'm not sure how hard he was on the mods, but from this side he was a strange but somehow nice guy giving himself a ****ing hard time. |
I say we make a dedication thread to WendyCal or RockGuitar101 while we're at it.
|
sk, he makes fun of you
|
who is?
|
....

Dirty? Or Loose Lips?

I guess that's what she meant.
I know he was, but I never thought he went too far. Perhaps behind the scenes things were a bit more serious, I dunno. |
We should bring back WendyCal and RockGuitar101 instead, just for shits and giggles.
|
I vote for a bandteacher thread
|
After he spammed "JACKPAT LIKES ANAL" over and over again in the shoutbox, I officially stopped caring about his situation. You all should do the same...
|
boo boo wasn't banned for one incident, or for being a "character", he was banned for endlessly repeating a cycle of unacceptable behaviour. Whatever else he may have brought to the forum, he took away by virtue of that and I think people forget about that.
Dirty was the same, though in my opinion he didn't do anything positive from day one, and to say he didn't start an awful lot of ****, and frequently, would be flat wrong, whether it were Vanilla, Paloma, threads cussing out the mods, or trolling in general. Again, whatever he brought to the forum he took away in other areas. Not least by virtue of having a personality that basically screamed from the rooftops about his massive, massive need to be thought of as an alpha male. Everything he said seemed to be calculated egotism or unwarranted putdowns, at least, if it wasn't blatantly starting fights or throwing hissyfits in the mumuplayer. As for CC, I never had a great deal of interaction with him, but what little I did have consisted of him spamming crap in the shoutbox and then later on spamming crap in threads that added nothing and just distracted from the discussion. I'll hold my verdict on him since I'm not so well informed, but my first impressions don't exactly bear out the personality of a real contributor. As for RockGuitar101 - That guy brought more to the forum in one glorious thread than Dirty did in his entire time here. As for WendyCal - Glad to be shot of that bull****. As for bandteacher - as above. While we're at it, who else have we banned thats been notable? |
Lol, The Virgin :D
