Hi, My Colleague in Audiophility!
Err... Have you seen my Myryad T-10?
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...o/IMG_8467.jpg
It's epic, altough it has already been kicked in the ass by a Creek CD-60, but that's at least twice the price, second hand.
Apart from that all that I've changed is my house (new room has about the same audiophile problems the old one has. Low end and stereo imagery is never at one place).
I've got a new audio rack though.
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...o/IMG_8476.jpg

I temporarily used a Sansui SR-222 record player:
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...o/IMG_8452.jpg
Absolutely bang for the buck. Nice simplified Jelco tonearm.
My Sony PS-X70 is back now, it had some problems with the motorized arm.
Speakers are still my good old Vifa's
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...o/IMG_8291.jpg

I'll be adding new interlinks soon though. Same taskers I used to have, but with better Neutrik RCA plugs. The old ones will to go my studio .

That's about it.

nothing much to update you with, stijn

only thing happening to me is a new high-speed line installed at my office so I have downloaded 800-odd albums since you left and returned

I couldn't even think of 50 albums I'd like to download right now.
But then I've had pretty neat internet for the past 5 years or so .

Welcome back s_k. You'll be disappointed to hear that Holly doesn't post here anymore.

Welcome back, s_k! I had noticed your cheerful presence around the boards. I'm glad your new house is a sanctuary for you.

You asked about changes and new music at MB:

Well, I learned that AwwSugar isn't planning to be around much anymore, so I'm moping about that. She had been gone for around 3 months and I began to get suspicious that she wasn't planning to return right now. My suspicions proved correct.

On the bright side, I learned about a group that is new to me and that has 2 songs I like, one of which I posted about in this newish thread you may not have seen during your absence: http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...ml#post1106611

I really like this song, so I'm glad I found it during the last several months:

Get Well Soon -- "Angry Young Man"
A beautiful video because of the wildlife scenes and the way it shows the sadness of the moment when a child kills a wonderful bird. No animals were harmed in the filming of this video, it says at the end.

* * *

Here's their other song I like, mostly because of the beat and the texture of the music:

Get Well Soon - "Heading Home to The Pole"

Again, welcome back, s_k!

I moved house too, about 8 weeks ago, luckily I have a much better sound in the lounge now as I now have carpet, I replaced the tweeters ( Vifa ) in my Castles as they got attacked by little probing fingers, grrrrrrrr. I nuded the Denon DL103 and fitted an aluminium body, sounded great then I ripped the cantilever clean off so now back to the Goldring 1042. I have an extra heavy tonearm weight being made especially for the DL103 so I may sent it to New York for a rebuild.

She sort of just disappeared, right?
Holly's a nice girl, but my favourites are still around, no worries

You know I've actually seen them perform life prior to a Calexico show?
They are pretty good live, but it just isn't my thing. I dislike this... theatrical drama in music. You understand what I mean?
Glad you like them though

I have a wooden floor on which I placed an (ugly, but audiophile ) carpet.
I'm not done yet. I'll get it to work. It isn't disastrous but it's not perfect either.

Have you seen the huge domes of the squawkers of my Vifa's?
These are very vulnerable to little fingers. Glad I don't have kids

Haha, well still listening to the 1022 here so I don't really see a problem there. As you know, I'm not all that enthousiastic when it comes to Denon cartridges, but this appears to be some defect in my ears because no one agrees. I still want to hear the 103R though.
