To go along with this description, here's a diagram:

Isn't it strange how you always hug with your head to the left, rather than the right? Where does such a thing come from?

I'm not sure I always hug with my head to the left, probably most of the time though.

I'd take a guess it's because most people are right handed and as the right hand goes over the top it's only natural to drop the left shoulder.

Man hugging is something else I don't do. If it was forced on me I'd probably check my pockets immediately.

Alternatively, there is the standard man hug, as demonstrated here:
(quite funny, too)

Add the arm-wrestling grip with the right hand before the man-hug, and that's a pretty good handshake-hug combo!...

...except not according to the following "handshake expert," who gives a guy a slap after the guy shakes hands like you described. (see 0:50 in video below)

Maybe I should have said I squeeze as hard as I can, but I have small weak hands, and it's just me compensating with the intent to deliver a firm shake.

I had an interview today with women, they never put their hand forth to shake and they certainly weren't looking for me to put mines forth. So I'm not so strange after all. Booya.

I hate the handshakes that are weak - I always feel that it's insincere, or they don't want to touch me!

I never really think about. I suppose it is fairly firm, but not too much. And not too long.

Funny how the world is full of clammy, limp and weak handshakes. Yet everyone here has a firm grip.

Not surprising, really...
The world is full of fat, ugly people. Yet everyone here is hot.

Minus one or two people.
