I wouldn't keep most of it. Money makes you a target, really, and I couldn't stand being in the spotlight.
So, I'd first pay off all loans and debts, obviously. Then, I'd buy myself a house of some variety within a driving distance of a reasonably culturally significant metropolitan area, but not within city limits. I'd then, once I get my new living place furnished, I'd live a life of isolation. Build myself some art studios within my home, at minimal cost, and devote my life to art. Adding a lump sum of money of maybe a million or two in a secure set of banks, and spend minimally living off interest. Then, the rest would go to charity. But, I'd form a charity, and supervise it, not blindly trust it to an existing. But, I wouldn't put my name on it.

Give to selected charities and scour the papers for worth causes like those poor feckers who can't get an electric wheelchair due to some stupid red tape bullcrap BUT remain anonymous.
Start a business to have something to keep the old grey matter going and get my kids to work there and learn as much as they can. I would see them right but still instill a work ethic in them. Put around 20% away in a high interest account that cannot be touched for 20 years. Back up. Travel the world and do music festivals all over the place. Learn to drive. Probably get pissed and indulge for a month or two. Has to be done. Attempt to make my own music. Have my own private cinema built into the new place. Book a ticket for space travel.

Well, in America, if you won $50 million in the lottery half would go to the Federal Govt.
The remainder would be: $10 million on land in Montana, which would net me some 50,000 acres give or take (about 60 square miles). I'd try to make this as contiguous as possible, and would do my best to remove any and all homes and buildings from the property. I'd rent out of the land to farmers, ranchers, and hunters as needed but would try to keep much of it wild. $10 million on a ****ing castle. Not a mansion, not a big ass house, I mean a ****ing stone castle in the goddamned mountains. $2 million on guns; did you foreigners know that, if you're in the right state and have the right licenses, you can own fully automatic machine guns, flamethrowers, and even automatic grenade launchers in the USA? Yep. I'd have a goddamn arsenal. $3 million on random ****. Boom.

Ok, first the money would go into high interest accounts.
As for buying things: 1st - Buy a house. (~1m) 2nd - Build a bigger house with a massive extension on the side for a studio (~?m, lets say 5, but I think thats wayyyy more than it would actually be, seeing as all the programs I've seen about people doing self-build houses they seem to cost less than 1m) 3rd - Acquire a fantastic home studio to put into it (~5m) 4th - Move into the big house. (~0m) 5th - Buy a reasonable car (~£16000 6th - Buy seven custom guitars (~£21600) 7th - Buy a nice mountain bike (~£5k) 8th - Sell the small house (+~1m) 9th - Buy a Home Cinema - (~£10k) 10th - Cost so far = £11,052,600 (12,052,600 if I keep the small house)
