That is endlessly frustrating to me. Spelling average words incorrectly and mistaking homophones isn't "informal", it's just wrong. I can sort of see where you're coming from with using shorthand in texts and IMs, but when it comes to "your" and "you're", there's no excuse not to know the difference.

Fun fact: every time I see someone on facebook say something like "It's you're turn", I always read it as "It's you are turn".

That's weird lol

My brain just processes it the way that it's supposed to be. I tend to not notice grammar errors too much because I read over them like I knew what they were attempting to say.

Same thing goes for typos.

Another one is when people say something like "I was to tired", in my head the "to" sounds like "toe".

It takes me a bit of energy to hold back because otherwise you always end up being called a grammar nazi. Now I am by no means a perfect writer and can make mistakes, but having text like this is just ridiculous:

"hi i am m0nica2143125 and i like music and my fav bands is good charlotte "

Do you suffer the same irritations?

I don't get why people type like that.

It seems like so much more effort goes into doing that.

I read it the same, except usually it's "your due to come see me". How can people not get the difference!!!!

what drives me nuts is when people write entire paragraphs of text without ever using any punctuation or capitalization i know people will try to make the argument that you can still read it of course you can still read it but it's annoying as hell to do so punctuation and capitalization were actually invented for a good reason believe it or not they break up the text in ways that make sense and do actually make it a lot easier to read when people don't use them i always read what they've written with this totally monotone inner voice that doesn't pause between thoughts
